I have used other electronic tuners, including some pretty sophisticated and expensive (professional) ones and yet after using Pianoscope the difference was clear from the first tuning. Notes around the tenor C3 area are more precise and the 3rds and 10ths are more even, but the main thing is the overall sound of my piano. It was quite an emotional response actually as for the first time since leaving the showroom, my grand piano sounded so full and wonderful that I was lost in playing it for hours. And yes, it seems to have held its tuning better than before, although I do spend quite a lot of time and care on it. I can thoroughly recommend this tuner. I particularly like the multi-display (strobe and line) ways you can check the tuning, and the option to change the display - very useful. I think pianoscope is the new benchmark for electronic tuners for sure.

I couldn’t get it to work. The documentation was obtuse It had me play every key on my piano and showed me where things were on a curve, but I never could get it to analyze the and show me which way it needed tuning

I have never reviewed an app before. However, this app deserves accolades by the bushel. As a professional musician I have been mostly disappointed with tuning apps throughout the years. Many don’t take into account things like intonation of different instruments and pro level ideals. I found this app from The Piano Doctor on YouTube and I was an instant skeptic. On opening the app I knew it was grade A. The UI was intuitive, it measured inharmonicity, and gave a graphical curve so I could visualize the initial dissonance. Giving me a good understanding of where my problem areas were going to be. The piano I was tuning hadn’t been tuned since 1986. And this app performed perfectly! Well done devs!!!

trying to tune a jaymar chime piano, but app stubbornly refuses to allow specific pitch ranges, only prebaked ranges. then it refuses to allow tuning of known notes if any it expects aren't available. so if the app doesn't hear a c3 either bc it's so far out it can't recognize it, or bc the mechanism or string is broken, it refuses to allow ANY a tuning to even begin. dumb, rigid gatekeeping for an otherwise promising app. please fix this annoying bug. it should just work with you telling it (or it recognizing) what pitch you're playing even for an instrument with only one note. please fix this stubbornness.

I dont want to start a trial for anything that I cant even see functioning first…

I did my first tuning with this app today. I got a wayyyyy more accurate tuning. I’ve tried so many different tuning apps. Very expensive ones and free ones. This one is top notch. This is now my go to tuning app.

I tune at least 20 pianos a week with this app. I tune at major recording studios in Los Angeles with iconic artists on a weekly basis. This program is very efficient. Switched from another well known tuning app due to more precise pitch readings and just overall better sounding tunings. Very modern and easy to use compared to other tuning apps on the market. The technology behind it is up to date and not 30+ years old like other more expensive software. Pitch raise is very accurate. Also really like the optimize pitch setting to tune the piano where it is currently hovering around. Excited about upcoming releases.

I’ve been using Pianoscope for the last year. It has enabled me to tune pianos more accurately than even before in 36 years . The display is easy to interpret. There are no useless frills and jumpy icons to distract from the job at hand. Customer service is excellent and responsive. Cost is reasonable. No other app can match it because it uses the latest technology. Others are outdated by decades.
