Description

pianoscope turns your iPhone or iPad into the ultimate assistant for creating high-quality piano tunings - for professional piano tuners and passionate pianists alike.
Free two-week trial. pianoscope standard & pro are in-app purchases.

FOR PROFESSIONAL PIANO TUNERS
With the pro edition of pianoscope you can increase your precision and efficiency and make your work less tiresome. Measure the inharmonicity of an instrument at lightning speed, or accelerate the pitch raising of strongly detuned pianos. With pianoscope pro you will meet the expectations of even the most demanding pianists

HOW IS PIANOSCOPE DIFFERENT FROM OTHER PROFESSIONAL PROGRAMS?
Conventional programs determine the required stretch similar to piano tuners working aurally. They start with a temperament octave and go outward from there with fixed intervals. The disadvantage is that you, as a tuner, have to determine which intervals are suitable for the partial structure of an individual instrument.
With pianscope, you only have to decide which intervals should generally be as pure as possible and choose the appropriate style. With thousands of tests, which would be impossible for a human, the program now searches for a tuning curve that optimally meets your wishes.

FOR PASSIONATE PIANISTS
Are you annoyed that your piano soon loses its finely balanced sound after being professionally tuned? Then, with pianoscope standard and some practice, you can create high-quality tunings yourself. You don’t have to to train your hearing for years. All you need is a little manual talent and the courage to learn a new skill.

Pianoscope Reviews

Great app

tim980 on

I tune at least 20 pianos a week with this. Switched from another well known tuning app due to more precise pitch readings and just overall better sounding tunings. Very modern and easy to use compared to other tuning apps on the market. The technology behind it is up to date and not 30+ years old like other software.

Great for me

I’m learning piano tuning and have tried a few other programs, but the tuning indicators were very hard to read, and after my tuning work, the results sounded disappointingly poor. Piano scope so much easier to use and our family’s pianos actually sound good. Thank you for creating this app.

The Future of Piano Tuning Technology

Pianoscope is revolutionizing Electronic Tuning Device apps. It is easy to set up and will quickly generate a professional level tuning curve that navigates the break better than any device currently on the market. For those with a trained ear there are ways to adjust the tuning to exactly what your ear wants to hear. This app also has incredible tools for learning to hear partials and training yourself to tune aurally. I highly recommend Pianoscope to anyone who is serious about producing high quality professional tunings.

My favorite, and the most musical

I have used two other tuning apps for the past decade and pianoscope by far is my preferred and favorite choice now. There is something special going on with the tuning curve. I also truly appreciate all of the work that went into the tuning screen and how smooth the strobe and indicator respond while tuning. No matter how bad the piano scale is, the screen responds beautifully! Thank you for such a powerful tool!

Awesome App

Produces the best tuning possible, every time. Great job on designing this app, Frank.

My piano sounds great

I have used a strobe tuner in the past - that’s not directly meant for piano and had trouble with detecting higher notes in the 7th octave, also the lowest in the zero octave. This app got every single note. Plus with the temperament built in, after 6-7 hours tuning my piano, it sounds fantastic. I’m considering paying the full amount for normal usage, because I tune twice a year usually. So as long as I can keep using this for years, it’s a great price. Especially considering paying someone costs more than the $100 basic price each time.

Simple to use, professional results.

I have a Kawai GS70, which is a 7.5 foot grand. I like it to be beautifully in tune, and was often frustrated that just a few notes in the 5th octave would not stay in tune and ruin my playing experience. That 5th octave is the melody line in many romantic era pieces. I know nothing about tuning a piano, and needed more of a guide than my ear to get it precise (which is essential for those three sections of string to be in perfect unison). So I got this app, and it is very easy to use. You will need some mutes and a tuning hammer and that’s it! I got the hang of it very quickly, and my piano has never sounded better. I have even even ventured into the 4th and 6th octaves and am fine tuning notes. This is all in just 2 days of the trial period! Thank you for this wonderful app. My instrument sings now and is a joy to play.

Wow…

I can’t believe how well this app works. I was skeptical at how it would do against an aural tuning, but first try with this app worked wonders on a piano that was 30-40 cents flat all over. I can’t believe my ears. I have had the trial for one day and will DEFINITELY be purchasing this in full. I have no need to try other software because of how blown away I am! Well done to the team at Pianoscope!!

But pricey but great tool

Davisbanddude on

Got a 1919 Knabe for free and restored it. It needed several tunings and after trying to free trial I found it was able to tune the extremes ends of the instrument better than I could myself. A $100 is a lot for an app but considering that’s what it costs to have the instrument tuned once I can now maintain it myself and save money in the long run. It’s much simpler to use than some of the more complicated tuners out there.
