PitPat Reviews

Battery life poor

Buddy's Walker on

United Kingdom

My main complaint is that the battery life of the GPS tracker is very poor. It last less than 24 hours. Charge overnight and by mid afternoon the tracker is down to 6% or less and so records nothing. Tracking the dog location itself seems very slow. It has interesting information on the dog’s activity but the app itself seems more focused on selling membership of the ‘pack’, food and insurance. Overall not worth purchasing.

Waste of money

Zero stars. Had a PitPat for three weeks. For more than half the days there is no data as the app says it is no longer attached so I reattach and still no data. App is primitive to say the least. Just seems to be a way to try and get people to spend money on subscriptions, food, and other products. If you haven’t already bought a PitPat don’t.

Good concept, done poorly.

Whilst the concept of being able to track my dog is good the idea that each time i want to see his location i have to wait 5 minutes is not. It says it makes “contact” yet still needs 5 minutes to “phone home”. It would be difficult for me to suggest this to someone and hasn’t met my expectations of a gps.

Waste of money

The PitPat device has lasted under 12 months and no longer powers on, app is quite poor and very little features, wasn’t worth purchasing the device.

Best GPS Tracker on the market

Sure it’s not perfect. If you don’t have phone signal, you won’t have GPS signal on the PitPat app. But it’s the best on the market and saved my furbaby when she’s run off chasing squirrels.

Don't buy this device

This was one of the worst tracking devices I've ever used. I stopped using it and got a tractive. I sold it though and when I sold it to somebody else they told me that the device was faulty. We were lucky our dog never got lost when he was wearing the device but what makes this even more shocking was that I bought it brand-new from PitPat!

Absolutely useless

gettya on

United Kingdom

Five bars of 4G on my phone and the PitPat tracker will not connect. When it does eventually work, my dog is always shown at least 40 m away from me. This seems to be a pinging tracker i.e. it only works every five or 10 seconds if you’re lucky. this means that if you have a dog who is off lead, you will never be able to accurately pinpoint him with this tracker. We are changing back to tractive, this is absolutely useless and a waste of your time and money, the stress this will put you through when you use it out with your dog is certainly not worth it.

No Demo

Sooteee on

United Kingdom

After downloading all 3 of the main GPS tracking apps, we decided to not get a PP as there was no way to see the app in demo mode prior to purchase. The other apps let you have a look around to see what they offer in the app itself. Unfortunately, PitPat demands you create an account before you can do anything! Given we haven’t bought the tracker yet and the app’s functionality would help us decide, the fact we can’t assess the app without signing up forced us to delete the app and decide to spend our money elsewhere.

I want to support it… but

Julzxxjuliet on

It’s just so hard. I want to track my dog as soon as I realise I need to (normally in a worried state and it needs to be quickly) and it takes forever. Our dog had ran off from a dog walker and it constantly kept saying it couldn’t load the tracker. I was in bits worried and was the only reason why I bought it. You also can’t see where your dog has gone. So really, what’s the point? Can’t see where your dog is straight away and can’t see where he’s been If I hadn’t paid so much, I would scrap it and get another.
