Wasted money

Don't even think about wasting your money on this junk. First, you are charged money for two scans. And then they also demand money from you for a subscription! I signed up and eventually found that the app did not translate anything.

Don’t buy it!

You have to pay for every scan. In app price you have only two scans! Don’t waste your money!!!

Don’t bother

£1.99 upfront and then you have to pay another £7 if you want more than 3 translations. Pure rip off.

Irritatingly non-intuitive and tricky to use

I’d seen good reviews of this app and it included multiple languages and the ability to edit images to make them clearer which all looked good so I paid £6.99 for the ‘unlimited scans’ option and took aim at some French text. I managed to store an image of the text eventually (the camera takes an extract from the photo frame when it thinks its ready - not when you’ve got the text you want in frame - and the crop function became unresponsive to touch movement after the first edit move.) Once I’d finally got the text I wanted in an image, I clicked ‘translate’. I got gobbledygook that looked a bit like code in both the source language and translation boxes. I can still see the image on the home page with a translate button to the right but I can’t get that to work either, nor can I see how to access the basic image to try out the ‘scan’ or ‘OCR’ functions on it instead. It hasn’t even been stored in ‘Photos’. In settings, I’m offered the choice of ‘original language’ and ‘needed language’ but it’s not clear what either of these are actually for and what difference it makes what you select. I tried switching ‘original language’ to French and ‘needed language’ to English but that doesn’t help. There’s also an option to ‘save a shot’. Sounds fun. I wonder what it is! Also kept getting a message that ‘CloudKit access was denied by user settings’. No idea what that means either or how I should change any settings to find out! And there are no instructions that I can find anywhere.

Installed, paid for but it failed to translate and developers did not respond to my email.

Was a good app until last update they put paywalls in only lets you have 2 scans and asks you for money, crap app please re move it from the App Store this is bad business to customers

Hopeless

Do not waste your money. Gave it the simplest task and it failed. Anything less tha perfect text it comes back with rubbish. Pittiful App

Doesn't work

I have spent two hours wrestling with this app. It patently does not work. Actually quite astonished that people are putting 5 stars against it!

Pig in a poke

Incompetent developers must be having a field day on the latest scam which means refunds are almost impossible to claim for apps that don't work. Pay £2.99. Discover app is totally useless. Delete. Caveat emptor. If you wait until Apple sends an invoice then technically you can claim a refund, going over your accounts some time after the event. But for small amounts it may not seem worth the time and trouble. So the developer gets paid for a faulty app and the customer loses confidence in the App Store. No way out really unless you stick to apps that clearly have been very thoroughly and independently reviewed.
