Description
PlaceTrack is a modern, cross-platform, full-featured location journaling and sharing app, available for iPhone, Apple Watch, and other platforms, and also offering compatibility with Car Play. It keeps a history of your locations 24/7 with almost no impact on battery life, capturing data on speed, course, altitude, and user activity. Additionally, its optional sharing features allow you to track your loved ones, monitor their travelling speed, get directions to their current location, and view street-level images of any place they are or they have been. You can also overlay and compare your location or your contacts' locations against a GPX track. This can be imported from files, Strava, or Apple Watch workout routes, as the app integrates seamlessly with HealthKit.

PlaceTrack is suspended in the background most of the time and is woken up only when you move significantly (detected using cell towers signal); most of the time it just sleeps and the GPS hardware is powered off to preserve battery. Install the app and forget about it
- save your location history for later viewing
- optionally share your recent location or location history with authorized PlaceTrack contacts
- forced contact location updates: you can ask for a live location update from a contact and the backend platform will silently ask your contact device for a new location update
- delayed sync: stores your locations when network is unreachable and pushes them to the PlaceTrack servers when you're back online

- track overlays: import route data from Apple Watch, Strava and GPX files
- location sharing works using address book phone numbers: your phone number is authenticated through an sms code on your first activation

Looks good ,but
Do not comprehende all the functions looks on paper just what i was searching for . Only crashed after 2 minutes...
Horrible update
The new version is a horrible update. I used Placetrack to track my phone's location offline, without it submitting anything to anyone, just a local history file. Worked brilliantly. This new version requires me to submit my entire location history to the developer's website. Please, dear developer, make it function again offline! This now sucks.
Very good, but not perfect
Unfortunately the final destination is often to close to the last major move for pinpoint accuracy, but other than that it's pretty good. Accuracy improves if another gps using app is used, as it will use those location updates as well.
This app grows on you slowly
It is still awkward to see the double flags on the map, something to do with FB is my guess. And I never noticed an update on location with a big "move". Maybe I read it wrong but I don't care.
Latitude werkt niet
Latitude geeft deze app geen toestemming om de gegevens van Latitude te gebruiken. Alleen voor Foursquare & Facebook locaties te gebruiken dus.
Doesnt update
It doesn't update anymore keeps saying network error check connectivity please fix this I already reinstalled the app and tried on diff phone and accounts
