PlaceTrack

Having lived through the earthquakes in Nepal rexently, this App will be great for keeping tabs on the family in case we have to go through another disaster. There is nothing more scary than loosing communication with your loved ones especially after telecommunications have also ceased. This App should make it easier to see where our family members have been even if we can't locate them immediately.

I hope for a bit more website tracking options

Found this really helpful, particularly useful is the ability to email yourself your locations in google earth format. Very useful little app.

Be careful the description gives the impression this works with google latitude but it won't retrieve your friend updates unless through facebook and fsquare. For me this is now a wasted download.

Despite some problems I give 5 stars just becouse every issue is resolved within days. To be honest, my first contact with PlaceTrack was not totaly fair with developer but after a week of using it ( remembering experience with original Google App) I got it from App Store. And trust me: if you want it for just for fun, or like me ( got realy short memory and can't remember what I was doing 4 days ago), its worth more than £1.49.

Doesn't seem to work with 2 step auth, no idea why all other apps for google services work just fine.

Works well, can we have an iPad version pleeeeassee?

Works better than the official Google Latitude app - but would be perfect if you could use the Check - In function and record your location manually - similar to the official app but better implemented.

A colleague of mine has been using this app for some time and has always been saying how good it is. I never really did much with my Latitude account until they released the official iPhone app. I found however it really drained the battery even after they claimed to have improved this. This app is better on battery life, though still eats it a bit but there may be nothing further that can be done to fix this. It's a bit more approximate than the official app but not a lot it's still pretty accurate but doesn't update as often which is exactly what I wanted really. I like the interface and the fact it gives you more control, especially turning off updates when you get to 15 or 30 % battery life. I'd love some more options in the config page as I like to tweak things about! How about more battery life settings? 10, 20, 30 and 40 maybe or custom? Overall though it's a good app and it's worth spending the little bit of cash over the free one.

Is it just me or is the history function doesn't work? I tap onto it, it finds my location, and that's it. I can't see the entire history. And I know there is content in the history because I log into Google Latitude and it's all there. Otherwise, fantastic app. I'm getting more accurate recordings of my location on my drives since the few updates. Maybe push notifications for alerting me if friends are nearby? Google don't tend to text me even how much I try :(
