Simple and powerful app for readers

W. Anchor Boy on

Australia

Pocketbook is easy to use, works remarkably well and most importantly it is free. I just tried out the text to voice function because I like audiobooks and it works well also. The voice sounds a bit like Siri or similar computer voice but i don’t mind that at all. This app deserves a million downloads it’s a silent achiever!

Freezes up

Richardhc on

Australia

Sometimes it works but it often won’t load a book or open a page. An animated icon of a stack of books appears and the page does not load and won’t go to the next page. Restarting the program or even restarting the iPad does not get it working.

Unreliable and Poor functionality

Kombikonnection on

Australia

I’ve used a lot of apps, however, this one has not been a reliable platform for downloading and reading books Some of the pages are blurred as in I can’t see the print clearly. It’s there, however, very faint How is that possible on an electronic platform? The books don’t download consistently, i.e. my iPhone works but multiple pages are skipped when reading , My iPad won’t even load though the book is in the library Back to the drawing board folks

Cloud not working

Was working great but now I can’t delete things off my cloud or download them on new devices

Has issues

Spacevamp on

Australia

I can't figure out how to add a book to the local books section. There is a section to BUY books, which seems to be books sold by the developer and not linked to any major book store like amazon etc (So if the dev dissapears so might your books) There is dropbox intergration, google books, and google drive. But no way that I can see to add books myself via local file. Add to this there is no paragraph spacing, and the controls are super clunky on Mac, sometimes the keys (which I worked out through trial and error) work and sometimes they don't.

It’s fine I guess

Wythen on

You can’t access the downloadable books in the internet archive through the app. Otherwise fine for a free app.

Crashing

LilaOwl on

Australia

I tried to load a book from story origin and instead the app crashed. It now won’t open. I have turned off and back on my iPad. I have read your advice on the 30 th Jan feedback but it thinks about opening, I see the books and it immediately closes. Airplane mode makes no difference. Help please.
