PolyNome Reviews

The Best App In The World

JRZ..._🎼 on

Joe, the programmer, is a diligent musical educator who is dedicated to excellence in his product and desire to help other musicians. It is hard to imagine a rhythmic task that this app cannot handle. The depth of programming is second to none. Joe thought of everything, and continually improves the product. The video instruction library is also very helpful because seeing a demonstration of the product in action is the best way to learn how to use it. I can tell that Joe has a passion for his art and his product. If I were a programmer this would be the standard for which I would aspire. Thank you Joe!

Hard to figure out. Wanted to simply track my practice work on diff pieces, but it’s awkward!

good app but buggy

I’m going to make this short and sweet: Yes, I do use this app a lot. Yes it is a very nice app to help with building chops. But no it is not very stable. Every time I close the app, it won’t open again no matter how long I wait on the first loading screen, it never loads, forcing me to power off my phone (holding power button and volume button) and going back. Only then I can open the app. nice app. Just don’t close it.

Not only a fantastic metronome, is my practice mate!!

The only metronome you’ll ever need

I’m a music teacher and performer. I’ve downloaded most of the iOS metronomes to review for my students. This is the one that I use for teaching, studying, and performing. It’s feature rich yet easy enough for a beginner. It now has a track mark up feature for transcribing/learning songs. It’s so good that I paid for the premium service. The developer is amazing and always replies to any questions. I love it. My Dr. Beat and transcribing apps don’t.

Excellent app!

Simply phenomenal. The new Track Markup feature is fantastic! Being able to mark bars and sections is wonderful, but especially the ability to slow down a song is helpful. Instead of all or nothing, I can tell which parts of a song i almost have right, or whether I’ve got a long way to go.

Best I’ve found

I’ve tried a number of iOS metronomes over the years but since getting PolyNome a few years ago, it’s become my standard. Most importantly to me is its capacity for polyrhythms but also the developer is super helpful and open to feedback.

Great app! Feature complete metronome.

This is far and away one of the best metronome apps I’ve ever used. Designed and developed by a drummer, the app has everything I could want (since I’m a drummer as well). Complex time signatures, polyrhythms, different counting methods and ability to adjust output levels of each part of the click. There’s a bit of a learning curve, but nothing huge to overcome. And you can use it as a basic metronome right off the bat. The developer support is nothing short of fantastic, and this, coupled with the features within the app, make it a no-brainer lifetime purchase for me.
