Until recently, this was a 4 star app. Then, the “recents” tab stopped showing the last item I opened. Now I need to search. That REALLY slows me down and has me looking to replace the app. So 2 stars instead of 4.
Says hi
I’ve been searching for TextEdit for the iPad every since its inception. Apple was supposed to just make it - but they never did. Thankfully, Pretext got it right - and added in some nice .md formatting options. I wanted something like pieces of paper open on my iPad Pro in little windows - and this is it.
I enjoy pretext Save me a lot of time My normal computer froze and needed to submit my class documents in time IT SAVE THE DAY !!
I really like how simple this editor is to use. However, this app restricts the file extensions that are supported making it less than useful for my purposes. Please let users decide which file extensions contain plain text regardless of the file extension. I have thousands of .tex files which makes it impractical to rename them all just to edit them and then have to rename them back.
The close button on the top menu bar does nothing. This should ideally save the file and terminate the app. Please fix ASAP
I use a lot of plain text files and a lot of markdown files, and I wanted to have them sync in between my computers. I’m using iCloud and the file app which worked mostly well except for it can only read text files and can’t edit them. It’s exactly what the Files app is missing allows me to edit my plane text files and save some back and iCloud. The interface feels like it’s a native application. once installed, and you want to open a text file from iCloud in the Files app it will then be able to open in pretext app instead.
Sometimes the app will just freeze whenever I open an empty or new note.
Opening a text file stored in OneDrive works fine. But the “Done” button does not save the changes. There is no other obvious “Save” button. Why doesn’t Apple provide a “Notepad” simple text editor? This shouldn’t be this difficult.
