Forgot my password and it does not give me the option to send myself a new password through email. 😡😒
iPhone 8, iOS 11.2.2 Upon logging in, device screen goes completely black. Can’t see anything, can’t touch anything. Restarting the app does nothing. Rebooting the device does nothing. They don’t seem to have any interest in fixing these problems and then want you to PAY?! Not a chance.
This app dose not work I signed up but it could not create the account this is the worst app ever FIX IT😡😤😠
This app does not work it never finds location and when you set phone to missing it never works huge waste of money if you are buying for iOS. I have it for PC and find it definitely worth it.
Any review that isn’t one start must be fake. This app has not changed a single thing since the day it came out. Exactly the same look and features from day one. — — — — — — Don't expect anything that's advertised. All the good reviews are obviously fake. I've had this app for years, and kept waiting for it to be updated to something useful... Hasn't happened. All the app updates they've done and i haven't notice anything new at all. Like i said, useless app. Do not download this hoping it will help you in anyway at any point in time. You'll feel like a sucker.
Misplaced my phone - not sure if it was stolen or not. Activated Prey and it couldn't find my phone even with the location set as always on and the phone turned on. I found my phone lost in my car which was about 15 metres (about 50 feet) away.
Running this on all my portable tech. Love it.
Friendly and easy to use
See, I have used Prey for a number of years on all my company's laptops and my home one. It works great. From my web control panel I can manage it easy. From the protected device there aren't any options except to log in, so I think some users are missing that they need the Prey Control Panel on the website. Also, if it's on a iPad with a password, unless a thief somehow unlocks it and hooks it up to wifi, it will never help you recover it. For phones the same. If a thief can't get into an iPhone they turn it off. Advice for any tracking app on an iPhone: Don't password protect your iPhone. Instead activate restrictions in settings so that some features like phone & games (or just games) can be used but no apps altered, deleted or added, no account changes, no reset, restricted with a password instead. This way, if your phone is ganked... That will encourage the thief to keep the phone and use it and connect it to wifi or use the cellular data (allow changes to wifi). With the Prey app running on your phone you can disguise it as a shooter game you need to log in to, so if it's noticed it'll just be passed over. All the time he thief uses your phone the phone is taking his/her photo and sending it to you over the wifi along with gps location and other info. Not as smoothly as Prey works on computers, since you have to take so many darn steps to make it work but once it's set up it WILL and DOES work to recover your phone. None of this info is very clear on the app and had I not known beforehand about Prey I would have trashed the app as useless garbage with no features, too. Look up Project Prey Control Panel on the web and set up your account there first, THEN log into the app your iPhone/iPad/iPod and go from there. There's a user forum that can help answer questions as well.
