Prompt 2

Read a lot of hype about this app. First time using it I needed to switch to my password manager to find a password. Coming back my connection was gone and the tab was lost. So I needed to start all over.

Long-standing bugs like the extra keyboard row covering up the bottom of the cli aren’t being fixed

Great app, but stop the annoying begging for reviews.

I use Prompt for years now and it really works ok. On my ipad pro i can administer my servers everywhere i am. Thanks for this app 🙏

Yeah, not a hero in SSH. I am one of those Google SSH. need to google every command and do copy and paste. So have a whole list of commands in my notes app to copy and paste. Even simple commands. I am not a regular user of those anyways. But the ability to save the commands in clips (not sure why it is called like that) and being able to label them and group them is a time saver. I have a few raspberry’s for instance with a camera matrix app. It has certain commands to restart/start/stop/status them, and it is great to be able to just to look it up in the clips section. Also when I need to change the WiFi or is address, i have those commands saved. Anyway.. if you are a hero like me on SSH. This is great. Note; I used termius before, don’t like subscription. The free model doesn’t give syncing with other devices. Also checked out Blink Shell for MOSH, but I only go ‘in’ SSH for short times and only when really needed. So I guess the real hero’s might like Mosh more because it will remain connected.

Is this app still getting updates or is it also killed like Transmit? There is a very annoying background bug that makes Prompt die when you leave even to only check the notification center pull down. Also the random crashes. I'm looking for a new SSH app that is not on a subscription model.

It works fine, but could be improved with respect to l screen real estate. The keyboard is too prominent and there is no quick way to slide it down. But the biggest problem is with frequent network changes from WiFi to 3g and back. The app freezes or fails to connect. Sometimes it produces a generic error like ‘failed to connect.’ Sometimes it stops responding completely and needs to be restarted. The developers’ response was to try out a number of scenarios but without proper errors it’s a waste of my time to try that. So I am not impressed. It sort of works though.

It had to come from iOS, warning me that the application wasn't performant anymore that I searched for prompt in the AppStore again to find there's a version 2 of the app.. I believe the import function have been removed already, so that's quite a bummer. But at least after I manually transfer my connections to v2, the sync option will keep me from doing that ever again.
