======================================
Python is a general-purpose, high-level programming language whose design philosophy emphasizes code readability. Python's syntax allows programmers to express concepts in fewer lines of code than would be possible in languages such as C, and the language provides constructs intended to enable clear programs on both a small and large scale.
Python supports multiple programming paradigms, including object-oriented, imperative and functional programming styles. It features a fully dynamic type system and automatic memory management, similar to that of Scheme, Ruby, Perl and Tclm and has a large and comprehensive standard library.
Like other dynamic languages, Python is often used as a scripting language, but is also used in a wide range of non-scripting contexts. Using third-party tools, Python code can be packaged into standalone executable programs. Python interpreters are available for many operating systems.
CPython, the reference implementation of Python, is free and open source software and has a community-based development model, as do nearly all of its alternative implementations. CPython is managed by the non-profit Python Software Foundation.
Python was conceived in the late 1980s and its implementation was started in December 1989 by Guido van Rossum at CWI in the Netherlands as a successor to the A-B-C language (itself inspired by SETL) capable of exception handling and interfacing with the Amoeba operating system. Van Rossum is Python's principal author, and his continuing central role in deciding the direction of Python is reflected in the title given to him by the Python community, Benevolent Dictator for Life (BDFL).
Python 2.0 was released on 16 October 2000, with many major new features including a full garbage collector and support for Unicode. With this release the development process was changed and became more transparent and community-backed.
Python 3.0 (also called Python 3000 or py3k), a major, backwards-incompatible release, was released on 3 December 2008 after a long period of testing. Many of its major features have been backported to the backwards-compatible Python 2.6 and 2.7.

DONT USE THIS

ReeseMar on

I had to pay to use this app and after i did, i learned that it cannot even handle a simple ‘a = input()’ or even a more simple: print(‘test’) It is garbage. Do not buy this. Never use it. It times out regularly.

Don’t get THIS APP.

First you have to buy completions to run the code, and then the PRINT() command does not work. I’m not sure this is real python.

DO NOT DOWNLOAD THIS APP

I downloaded this without reading the reviews and let me tell you, this is not a good app. You cannot test any programs without buying “compilations” and you don’t get free compilations for using the app. I would not recommend and you should not download.

Asking Me To Update App, But It's Current

George from Venice, FL on

I've been running this app for 3 years and have a ot of programs. Now I can't run any as I get this message: Python 3 Online Interpreter [python-3.5] Copyright (c) Python Software Foundation Running your program... Please update the application to compile the program. I have unlimited compiles, and the App Store says m app is current. What gives? Also, I have been getting this on all your Apps.

I use it.

I purchased the full version to practice writing python code. It works fine and it has worked each time I upgraded my iOS. I have found a bug in the if: else: function that caused me to waste hours trouble shooting, but so far it is the most functional interpreter that I have found.

Good, solid App

desNotes on

I have used this app for a few weeks now so thought I would write a review. I use the app to try different ideas when I'm not around a computer. The app provides feedback when a program doesn't build enough to get me to the line of code causing the problem. All in all it is good basic app for writing Python code. To the reviewers complaining about charging for compilation, $1.99 for unlimited compiles is well worth the price. The only addition I would like to see are maybe some additional Python libraries.

Not free

You literally have to pay right from opening the app. I wanted to download it to see why the reviews were so bad and, with low expectations, was still disappointed. I was confused as to why it’s 600 KB. Turns out from what I can tell it’s an online interpreter anyway, so there literally is zero point in using this versus an online one.
