I wish I could rate this 5 stars but..

This app is amazing and the tutorial section alone is worth it personally... when it works. The app crashes way too much without any autosaving. This app really needs some behind the scenes work as it lacks stability. I wish there was an option menu to lower settings or turn off functions in order to run it better. Seriously this app is beautiful and solidly bridges the gap between digital and real tools. Its just currently not stable enough to trust to use for art on my ipad.

Overall it looks great

But unfortunately it keeps crashing as soon as I start.

Very promising app

I use and love apps like Procreate and Clip Studio, and this is very much geared for traditional art over all the fancy tools that the other apps offer. That doesn’t mean this isn’t good- it’s just good in a different way. If you just want to have fun with traditional art tools. It’s not what I’d use for work, but for fun and practice it’s worth the asking price.

Great but could use some tweaks

Ombadiya on

Really enjoyable but slightly niche app, could use some more modern features. I prefer doing my tight line work in vector apps and would love the ability to import existing images as layers. The video demonstrations for the brushes are good, an optional tooltip would be nice as well to avoid having to go back to the online manual to remember which brush does what.

Awesome app

The only issue I’m having is when I go to render the image, the app will blank out and it could just be my iPad but if you could fix this that be much appreciated!!! Besides that I can still save the artwork and it’s very lovely!

Great concept

Absolutely love the idea behind this. My only qualm is that there is a huge delay when drawing with the Apple Pencil Gen 1 on the iPad Air 3rd Gen (though this app says it is compatible). If this app could be as smooth as Procreate, I will switch in a heartbeat!!

Limited

Jolier on

While this is a fun app, it’s very limited for actual artwork. Some brushes are good most are not, you can’t adjust them much. I find trying to work on a canvas that is pinned to an easel limiting. You can’t rest your hand on screen to paint, canvas jumps around.

Export to 300 dpi not working

Nej R on

Great app but with a catch. Though it lets you create canvas at 300 dpi, the exported jpg is still 72 dpi. Any way to fix it?

great rendering of natural painting effect but...

It is so limited in terms of features you get to expect from a digital drawing app, like you cant even export the drawing without the cheesy photo setting. Still, it has to be the best drawing app for rendering oil paint and watercolor.

Exactly what I’ve been waiting for

User0813 on

Recently got an an iPad for making art on the go. I’ve been experimenting with a bunch of paid and free drawing apps. This is by far the best at replicating the properties of paint, ink and pencil and it’s nearly the same experience as the desktop version of this app. I’m pretty blown away by how good it is for an initial release, but it makes sense given the high quality work the dev has done with their other app Paintstorm Studio. Really looking forward to future updates!
