I have allowed myself to suffer from this for decades, and it has become ingrained into my current personality. However I am putting in work now to accept how I have been, and begin realignment of my personality with how I prefer to identify, which is as a person with rational thought patterns. I appreciate the thought that went into this, especially the concise design and brevity of lessons. Perfect for someone just starting who, like me, has zero patience and a short attention span. But this I believe will continue to help me every time I get all up in my own head, because I know I can be better than I have been in the past. I did alter some of the aversion techniques that match with my own lived experience. Doesn't mean you have to as well, they may be on the dot what would work for you. So do not discount them irrationally. But I personally disagree that watching TV/playing video games as a good distracting mechanism, as that is part of my problem to begin with. I simply replaced that one with ideas for more productive, extroverted activities. Additionally, I personally believe that for me, psychiatric medications have done me more harm than good, and would prefer to continue my research with homeopathy and other eastern style medicines. However I have some people in my life who have really benefited from doctor prescribed medications, so don't write them off if you think you should be on them. Lastly, it would be nice if the dev provided alternative crisis management hotlines/chatlines other than the national suicide hotline. You may need that resource if your problem is severe enough, so do not absorb my opinions immediately or cause you find yourself in denial of your situation. But do a google search as there are alternative numbers to call. Suicide hotline actually has profited off the sales of private user data in the past, which is a low blow. They have also been accused of taking a cut from health industry for over-recommendations for inpatient therapy, and worked somewhat as a "snitching" operation with the police. So know who you are calling and what ramifications might happen before you do. Overall they have saved more lives than they hurt, so do not discount that aspect. Thanks dev.
