Ride with GPS Reviews

Beware the free trial

ertfgerter on

Australia

Tried the free for 7 days as daughters team was using it to try and guide them on their rides. Couldn't even get it to work so used Strava anyway. Then forgot about it and automatically charged me $100 yearly subscription fee without any further confirmation. Dirty. Guess I am forced to try and make it work for a year now.

Not worth the sign up

ridersontime on

Australia

Signed up for a premium subscription but I was never able to access my account. I tried to contact support multiple times and to reset my password but was not successful. They kept charging me for a subscription even after sending emails asking them to stop. It took a long time for them to help me. Not worth the trouble.

Quality evolving product

Shtepper on

Australia

Great interface. Reliable and visually easy to read. Improving on its quality with every iteration.

Long Term Simple Reliability

S hosking on

Australia

I’ve been using RWGPS for seven or eight years for navigation overseas on unfamiliar roads with patchy or non-existent data, it remains my go-to.

Remarkably poor

Dermot McD on

Australia

I only used this app for a day, hated it and then got something better… which was also free. When using the app in English, the units appear to be set to miles which is useless in Europe. If you make a wrong turn, the app is poor at getting you back onto the right track. Sharing routes is easy but that’s not enough to make me use Ride with GPS when there are better solutions and for no money.

Work with Garmin

Ferrit429 on

Australia

No faults great app good data .

Nearly Perfect

GlennieMclaytons on

Australia

Works well, gives me the information I need. Only one little problem in that I have trouble getting voice announcements for heart rate sometimes.

Better mapping than “other” GPS Ride App

MarkoTurner on

Australia

After being a paid subscriber to the other main race/adventure cycling app, I became frustrated with its mapping tools. You can create routes easier on the desk top but cannot adapt pre-existing rides from other users on that platform. Inversely, on the phone app you can easily find pre-existing routes but cannot adapt them. Plus, with my transition to gravel rides out of the city, the off road mapping is poor. Ride GPS mapping is better, but still needs some work. The routing regularly gets into a funk and just outright refuses to let the user create a route. The creation by “lines” is equally finicky.

Connections with Garmin really poor

PHuaer on

Australia

Poor connection to other apps. Sometimes it works sometimes it does not

Brilliant route planner

Ben A99 on

Australia

Nothing else like it. If you are used to planning routes on pen and paper, the app will make complete sense to you. There is also an amazing route library available, much better than Strava when it comes to this.
