This app has been my goto app since finding it! Such great rides and people that are knowledgeable about the route they create!
I was happy enough with the program when using on my home computer. I mainly used to track my training and plan a few simple rides. The app was a complete disappointment while on a 20 day cycling trip to Spain. Nothing seemed intuitive or simple to use. The routing choices were often bizarre and way too much effort was required to input the route I wanted. Apple Maps was surprisingly much better choice for planning cycling routes.
RwGPS download for offline mode is very flaky and unreliable. Often have to do this multiple times, and sit on this app (and not switch to another app) until it is 100% done. Seems like a major bug in this, and super slow. Has anyone else noticed this intermittent behavior? Even when you do download for offline, you still don’t always get the full map details either.
I’ve used this for 3+ years now. I like having records for all my biking, and decided long ago to track cross country skiing, snowshoeing, and hiking by adding gear for each. As I have 5 bicycles I use, I can track maintenance and use of each separately. I WISH I could easily track how many miles I put on each year but have not figured out how. I downloaded a few gpx files for major rides but don’t depend on my phone for tracking long trips due to the heavy battery usage.
I have been using this amazing app for my cycling the past three months. It's so easy to use and follow your route and training. Five stars don't seem like enough
I’ve been using some sort of version of RWGPS for the last six years. It’s gotten slightly better over the years, but nowhere near what I believe it should or could be. 1. Long routes constantly fail to download 2. Trying to switch base layers on a map for a long route freezes the app 3. Downloading routes take forever 4. Downloading routes sometimes get stuck at 90 percent to 100 percent making it impossible to download another route. 5. Routes take forever to load when you are offline. 6. Trying to use this for live navigation is a joke. If you are a few feet from the route it beeps and beeps and beeps warning you that you are off route. 7. It’s very expensive for how poorly it performs 8. It loves to take you on short detours from your route that make no sense whatsoever. 9. It loves to try to route you onto private property. The list goes on and on. I have about thirty more items that are unacceptable for a paid app like this, but it’s not worth my time anymore. I’ve gifted RWGPS with about $250 over these last six years. The computer version is slightly better, but still clunky and annoying. It loves to add random things to routes and while splitting routes has gotten better over the years, it’s not where it should be. Sorry for the criticism RWGPS. They are good folks, but their app has never been good. This will be my last time paying for the yearly subscription.
By not getting lost!;)
Extremely easy to use and record rides. Lot’s if valued information logged and shared!
I have been using RWGPS for several years. It is great for finding routes as well as creating my own. The interface is easy to use. You won’t be disappointed!
Since the last update my cadence sensor has stopped working. It can still connect to it but the cadence reading is gone
