Riffler Reviews

Unique on IOS, but needs update

TheWightGuy on

United Kingdom

It’s now 6 months since the last update. Because the developer is busy developing this app for desktop. Patience is a virtue, and one chap can only do so much. But it is getting frustrating being a second class citizen. On the plus side, Riffler is one of those rare apps that assists creativity rather than replacing it. Yes, you can push a button and get an instant riff. But a little more effort can result in something special. The results can be used as AU3 audio, or exported as Midi for further tweaking. Riffler is, at present, unchallenged on this platform, but I’m hearing that one of the big boys is launching a product this year. So it would be prudent for Riffler on IOS to be given a wash and brush up, including midi in and riff name display.

Amazed

I ave been playing guitar for over forty years and despite making my living from it for the last ten or so, I still find myself limited by a tendency to be stuck in a rut whereby I play the same thing over and over. This app gives me the ability to break out of that. You can guide it to here you want to be after finding an interesting preset and then play the part that you come up with. The tones option gives you so much useful options that you may not need to. I ometimes get a better result after running the clean drystone through an amp sim but he results straight from RIFFLER sound great in a mix. I am using DRAMBO synced via Ableton link to Blocs Wave and it is stunning together. No sync issues and incredibly fast results. I have Ableton and Studio one on a Pc but now Bly use that for mixing and finishing tracks. Blocs Wave is the most inspiring app that I have ever used and RIFFLER takes it up to another level. The best money I have ever spent on music tech. Get Riffler and a few packs from the Blocs library then buy an old iPad Air 2 or a en 5 or later and for around £100 you will ave a music creation tool that will blow you mind and will be easy to learn. Hen explore the other inedible and innovative apps on iOS as you go.

Just keeps getting better and better

Nice app, ugly gui

Nickname-Taken2 on

United Kingdom

The gui is ugly as hell. I’d also like the ability to create my own patterns rather then just editing preset rhythms. I also don’t like the fact that clicking a preset multiple times renders a new riff, isn’t that what the random button is for? - Also, the transport controls are in a bad place for modern iOS devices which always show the bar at bottom centre. - The hi-hat metronome sounds awful. - The note number font is awful. - Dragging notes around would be nice! - Scrolling/dragging on presets should have a delay before trigger as scrolling often makes you select another (unwanted) preset whilst browsing. - Needs MIDI input. * Love the sounds though! And development seems to be active so I’m hopeful! Give us some colour/theme options at least, that would make the gui more palatable. ** Fix all of the above and you’re giving ujam a run for their money!

Great app

no good at all pure crap on

United Kingdom

This is a great app but only being able to make 8 bar sections maximum is a real limitation, specially if you are into blues. Please add the ability to make longer sections, at the very least 12 bars. That would be fantastic. Thanks.

Even Better

I was a happy bunny to buy this app the day it was released... now I am an ecstatic one. With each update comes more magic and has elevated my experience with it as both a player and sequencer. Thank You 🙏🏽

Didn’t work for me

Spigthespog on

United Kingdom

I’d like to say good things about this app because the concept is neat. However, for me it locked frequently, was unresponsive and, when it did work, created riffs that all sounded basically the same.

Just Brilliant A***

Life is Music Making on

United Kingdom

Came across this app via music suggestion settings on App Store. Just brilliant, easy to use even for beginners like me. The range of numerous riff sounds and variety of sound settings make this app fun to use and hard to come off it. Use in AUM and boy you can compose some great scores.. You won’t regret buying this app. Have fun.

Restored to greatness

Sean00000aah on

United Kingdom

Edit: Developer has added back the export audio button. Probably should have delayed the release till this was fixed, but now it is and its great again. Still think dropping the riff book for external storage makes it more complicated to create variations on the riff. What would be awesome would be some way to string riffs together. The note editor is a nice added feature, not that easy to use but very useful. Another thing that would be very helpful is an easy way to copy and paste the tab into a text editor. Hope this app continues to grow as it is super fun to play with, and has the potential to be a truly outstanding creative tool.

One Happy 🐰

I bought this app one the day of release. Really LIKED it, but had limited play because of the lack of integration with my DAW. Now, I LOVE this app and will be using it extensively 🤩😎🎸🤘🏽
