iBassist FAQ
Is iBassist free?
Yes, iBassist is completely free and it doesn't have any in-app purchases or subscriptions.
Is iBassist legit?
🤔 The iBassist app's quality is mixed. Some users are satisfied, while others report issues. Consider reading individual reviews for more context.
After years of denying the AU3 tide, Lumbeat finally made its first AU3 compatible app, and instantly became part of the future. Lumbeat always had tremendous sounds and a superior level of functionality, all that was missing was that vital integration. Only problem is, the last but one update added the ability to receive grooves from Lumbeat’s Rock Drummer, then the current update took that away! FFS, does anyone test this stuff. It’s in house so should never happen. Until this is fixed, I can’t even see iBassist from Rock Drummer.
Save your money
Unless you like spending hours with an epileptic over bearing bass player . Most expensive overrated app to date. It talks the talk but walks like it’s has too left feet. 100% useless
Needs to be updated. pretty useless as it is.
I suppose if you want to use it standalone it’s ok but not any use in a DAW as it doesn’t sync with anything. MIDI in and out doesn’t work.
Good app and unique
Please could we have a fretless bass please.
Can’t find any slide articulation
Does not sync
The app will play happily on its own in AUM, but will not sync with any of Soft, Funk or MidEast Drummer- the ‘make drums’ command does nothing, and even matching the tempos and the AUM transport cannot sync it. I’ve even tried deleting and reinstalling, but no joy.
Was considering Jazz Drummer too, but if its USP is that it syncs with iBassist then I’ll give it a miss. Already down one lot of £18 for something that does not work as advertised- but at least deleting it again will get me the 1.1gB back.
I would, of course, be happy for the developer to prove me wrong...
A practising dream
I bought Soft Drummer a while ago to practice guitar against it. This raises the whole idea to another level. Syncing iBassist with Soft Drummer is just the next level in practice. Solid grooves with improvisation, fantastic, thank you!
IBassist
This I thought was well designed but the user / instructions are basically none existent.
I have a midi piano with Irig midi2 working on an iPad Pro ,with the bassist app,and I cannot get the base to follow the chords or even the lower note of the chord, when using midi out of the piano to midi in of the Irig2 connected to the lightening connector.
I have set the midi in bassist to the appropriate detection channel, but still does not work.
I have waisted £17.99.Would have been better if I had given the money to a charity
Trafford Reeder
Heard it on The BBC
Render Loop to Audio File. At the price one would assume the rights had been purchased to render to REX file. Asking for it to be included directly into Cubasis / Auria is obviously a concern for underlying ownership of sound. I wish Apple would get on top of these issues , these are not the apps that are ten per penny games at £17 each they aught offer shares in the company.
Love this app
Just what I’ve been searching for for ages, fantastic.. thanks
Great app but no bluetooth ability?
Great app and use it with most of the drum apps by LumBeat.
BUT, the drum apps have Bluetooth ability but not iBassist!?!?
Even when iBissist is linked with the other drum apps……no Bluetooth output! The sound comes out of the iPad’s built in speaker even if my Bluetooth connection is active to the amplifier! Not sure if it’s an app deficiency or lack of information by Lumbeat?
Have written to the producer but no reply at this point!
Maybe this will get a response?
It would be great to have the Bluetooth feature as the drum apps!
