No Apple Car Play
This is a great GPS app. However, a GPS app that doesn’t support Apple Car Play is pretty much next to useless. Until Apple Car Play is put back into the app, the rating doesn’t deserve more than 2 stars.

Overall it’s a great app for sharing routes. Personally in my country as the roads are very inconsistent in width and quality etc, I don’t use the app for making routes, only for sharing them - once I’ve brought in roads as GPX files. Some features that would be good to see are: 1. The ability to automatically flip a route and return back to the start. This is perfect for going back home after a drive to the end of a nice road. This avoids the chance of having to map yourself back by memory (you can get lost) or by Google maps (which may recommend a different route). 2. Sometimes when mapping from home to the start point of a route, the app doesn’t realise I’ve arrived at the start point. If I continue going then past the start point, the app keeps trying to route me back to start. It should be able to sense that I am now following the route as shown within the roads app, and accordingly map me to the end of the route instead of the start. There should be some way for the app to know that once I’ve been following the line for the saved route for some time, it no longer needs to map me to the start point of the saved route. 3. It would be nice to have a way to share a route with just your friends, and not to everyone publicly on the roads app.
Good concept good can’t tell what the route is
I think the app should have large support in live speedometer so you know how exactly fast your going as most car speedometers are not accurate. Also add support for speed cameras, light cameras, a level system for amount of things you report such as put holes, police mobile cameras etc.
Would be great if there was carplay integration. You’d be able to see the map instead of just relying on audio cues
Great roads. But I’d like a map I can explore with routes marked on them. And I’d like the ability to follow people who produce good routes. And finally, about ten of the routes on here and the descriptions were ones I entered in the earlier GTS Routes App, but no acknowledgement. Bit disappointing.
I’m a busy professional, a husband, and an involved father to two teenagers. I rarely write reviews because life keeps me so busy. However, I had to take a few minutes to write about one of the most amazing apps I’ve ever had the pleasure of using. I live in South Florida but was visiting my father in southeastern Connecticut during an early October weekend. With some rare downtime, I decided to take advantage of the scenic drives New England offers in the fall. While searching for an app that could guide me through the best routes, Google directed me to the Roads app. I embarked on an incredible trip from Uncasville, Connecticut, to Litchfield, Connecticut. For two and a half hours, I experienced pure joy. At 50 years old, not much tends to impress me anymore, but this app, and the stunning scenic tour it took me on, genuinely made my heart soar. I only wish I had more time in New England to use this app and explore even more beautiful landscapes. The app is free, but I wouldn’t hesitate to pay $50 if that’s what it took to use it again. Go ahead, download it, and enjoy an amazing drive wherever you are.
I do enjoy the entire concept of this app. The community aspect is largely the best part since you can see routes published by other users in your area. The auto-generated routes tend to be subpar as it will route you through neighborhoods and town-roads. But i also understand the level of programming and refining for that is difficult. One feature that truly bugs me at the moment is how difficult it is to create your own route. At the moment, to create your first route you can go to your profile > my routes > create my first route. This takes you to an extremely detailed map with the option of satellite view where you can set up your detours/waypoints. However once you create your first route, you can no longer access this detailed map to create new routes unless you delete the original. You can use the “Plan Tour” tab, but the map is incredibly dark and as you zoom in, the road lines disappear, making it impossible to accurately place your points. There is no option to use a detailed map or satellite view like in the above mentioned method. In the app FAQ, it states you can create a new route by selecting the “Drive” button on the main screen, and then clicking the + sign. This pathway no longer exists. In the screenshots listed on the App Store, it has an option to create a new route next to the “With Ups & Downs”, “Fun with Curves”, “Got a Spare Hour?”, and “Going at full speed” options. For some reason, this option to create a new route also no longer exists. This is my main and only gripe with this app as it ruins the point of the app. I should be able to create and save routes with ease while using a detailed map. I can’t give this app more than three stars until this is addressed. Without this issue, it’s easily a 4-5 star app. Sincerely, A Toyota GR86 owner.
Need to be able to skip location permissions at launch of app. Stop the data mine survey and allow us to see the app. In response to developer: people plan roads before they visit, you not need to require our location to explore and plan a trip prior.
I’ve been looking for something like this all my life as a driving enthusiast. Something that finds those fun, windy, “roads less taken”. With the new update + CarPlay support, I gotta say—hats off to the team on this one.
