Best language app but has an annoying bug

Aaahhhhhhgfddvhh on

United States

This app isn’t perfect but it does a good job walking you through every day scenarios, and it gives you a history lesson periodically, which is nice. The most annoying thing is when a number is in a sentence they spell the number out. Then when you speak the number it is presented. E.g. the example sentence is “due euro” and when you say “due euro” it writes “€2” and counts the sentence as incorrect. This is absurd

Loving this app

I’ve been working on French for about 2 months and can not believe how much I have learned. It is a fantastic app and very user friendly!

Best app for learning Italian I have found yet!

Sarey.Bee on

United States

I’ve used Duolingo, Babel, Rosetta Stone, Pimsleur, and MemRise to learn Italian. So far, I find that Rocket Languages exceeds them all. Comprehensive, and really leads to understanding of grammatical concepts, and teachers, speaking and writing skills. Hoping that finally, after years of using these other apps, Rocket Languages will finally help me to become conversational in Italian.

A Great way to learn!

I love the app, it’s practical and better than other language learning apps that I have used. Best of all, the Audio is real people’s voices, not AI generation. (Makes listening and talking far better than say Duolingo). It’s interactive, takes the time to make sure you understand what you’ve learned, then tests you on it. It covers all the bases and then some. My ONLY complaint so far is the voice software. It could very well be a personal problem, but I don’t think it does the best job at times of listening to me. Rocket will write what it hears you say, when you do good, the pieces of the text will turn green. should you fail, the pieces of text will turn red. So it will hear me pronounce stuff that I never said and show it back to me. Sometimes this is an egregious and frustrating flaw. Fortunately, it seems to be uncommon or rare. Rocket is a bit temperamental when it comes to the speech, but at the end of the day it’s a minor flaw on a long list of positives.

Tried others; Rocket is perfect for me!

Rocket seems to have incorporated the best aspects of other methods, at least for me. It takes a bit more commitment but the results when compared to other apps and approaches are superior. Price point is high, but I pulled the trigger and bought all 3 levels of Spanish and have not regretted it. The hardest thing to realize is that certain approaches work better for different people. Rocket works for me.

Many learning methods

SoupieO on

As a lifelong leaner of languages I must say that Rocket language really understands how many pathways most people need to internalize a language and grow in confidence. I use this as a daily reinforcer to my weekly meeting with a tutor and it really helps my progress in spoken, written, language and memorizing. I love the voice recording with grading on pronunciation.

The Only Egyptian Arabic Course I Could Find

And it’s great! The audio lessons and speaking recognition are massively helpful, aural and oral fluency are always the most difficult parts of learning languages for me. From an American getting married in Egypt next year, thank you thank you THANK YOU!!!! I’m buying Spanish next!

30min a day should do it

Russian learner101 on

Great app 30min a day plus just saying the lines you learn all day in your head and out loud help a lot the only thing I wish was better is a way to confirm I’m saying it correctly the app does it but now we’ll so you won’t know until you test it and by then maybe you’ve been saying it wrong for months

Rocket at Warp Speed

In its great variety of exercises, Rocket is perhaps the most comprehensive of all language learning apps. It adopts (and puts into practice) the adage, “Many roads lead to Rome.” In other words, it recognizes that language is best learned and acquired through multiple approaches and methodologies. It focuses on all the key elements of language — listening, speaking, reading, and writing. Moreover, Rocket doesn’t rest on its laurels but rather continues to develop the app. Case in point, not long ago it redesigned its UI. And more recently even yet, it added the ability to record user audio for playback and evaluation. The former will help us better navigate the app and the latter will enable us to improve our pronunciation as we compare it with the native speakers Rocket provides. Finally, I assess language learning apps not only by their capabilities and effectiveness but also by the company that stands behind them. And Rocket Languages is a very responsive company and considers user feature requests and suggestions. For those who can afford to choose only a single app as a language learning guide, they could do no better than to choose this one.
