I’ve tried this and although works well tracking (some) shots it becomes hard to use if you forget to record the shot with no obvious way to go back. Once you enter a score it guesses where you took shots if missed and often wildly out. Although can be corrected after the game, I find it difficult to do so and don’t bother. I have been wondering to upgrade to a paid version but don’t want to commit if it doesn’t help these issues.

Can’t load the courses!!

Im a high handicapper and have been using a Garmin Venu for yardages for a few years but wanted to change to an iwatch. This app came out well in reviews but I just find it too complicated and a nuisance that I have to take my phone on the course and have to keep entering my score to be able to move on. Also while my regular course is included there are only options for white and yellow tees but not red. Shame.

My local course is missing the option for yellow tees for some reason, apart from that it’s a great app

I installed this app about 6 months ago to use with my Apple Watch so I only need one watch when playing. I subscribed to monthly Birdie subscription in the UK via Apple. Each month the money goes out but the subscription says ended on the app. Four months I have contacted the developer who respond promptly but it takes about 3 days to fix it. Each month I am assured it is fixed but final straw today as it has failed to renew and I am playing a game when I really needed it. The app appeared to give me what I wanted but the time each month to fix is ridiculous. I would simply recommend you stay away from it unless you want hassle every month

I really like this app. Simple to use and very well designed but the last few times I’ve used it the watch app has completely drained the battery. Don’t know if there’s a setting that’s wrong but it’s a real shame as, without this, the app is pretty much flawless.

I’ve tried this for a few rounds and it seems to work quite well tracking most shots on the Apple Watch but I do have to enter manually a number of shots from around the green. I enter these as ‘missed shot’ but it isn’t as easy as it could be. I think this could be easily improved from the default Watch screen by adding a button ‘add shot’ maybe. It would be good if it recorded your position at the time too. Editing on the phone to add missing shots is a bit onerous too. It’ll only let you ‘add shot from here’ if it detected your presence at a spot with the + sign. I’d like to be able to do a long press on the screen and be given the option to add a shot. Handling ‘three off the tee’ could be easier when my first tee shot has gone off into the woods and I’m playing a provisional.

Maybe it’s me but It’s too complicated to use, if hit 3 off the tee if mucks up my scoring

I so much wanted this to work especially as I thought I’d done my homework and made comparisons of other similar apps. I initially “trialled” the app and looked at the videos which accompanied the app on first loading. I also received plenty of emails encouraging me to watch the videos and naturally encouraging me to to subscribe. I ventured out into the course and used the app on my V7 Apple Watch. It went reasonably well and I enjoyed using it. (Note I’ve used Garmin golf watches for distances previously with no issue and I normally don’t have it issues beyond my technical ability to understand or at least work with “techies” to fix). At the end of the round it gave me a brief overview of my round with indications of where I had lost strokes it gained them etc. once saying OK that disappeared and all I could then view was my scorecard. Understandable as they want you to pay for a subscription. I have no issues with that. I received an email offering 25% off the Eagle subscription. I was impressed and so jumped in to buy for 12 months. This is when it has all gone wrong. I paid, my credit card debuted and I checked the app and it was not showing. I waited several hours. Still not showing. Via the app I queried this. It said I might wait a couple of days for a response. It should be noted I’m in the UK. The app I think is based in USA DK there is a time difference and I also responded to an email priced in US$ not Sterling. But that really shouldn’t make any difference. This took place in 7 January 2022. Today on 16 January I still do t have an app with my subscription showing allowing me “Eagle” access. There have been loads of emails asking me to delete the app, reinstall the app do this do that etc. but still no joy. I emailed again yesterday following a very poor experience with the Watch app - failing to recognise my Iphone12 not keeping g up with which hole I am on. In the end I had to ignore as it was a huge distraction on the course and interfered with the fun of playing golf. I have not had a reply other than to say j gave a “ticket” number with a link to follow the response. I followed the link entered my details (several times) only to be advised my details are not recognised. This is the end. For me the app is a disaster. I want my money back and I’ll keep looking for an Apple Watch golf app that serves my purpose.
