ROUVY Companion Reviews

My Fav indoor Cycling App

faust42 on

Canada

I’ve been using Rouvy for over 3 years since I rediscovered my love of cycling during the depths of the pandemic. There are plenty of indoor cycling apps, but I liked the ability to ride real routes and famous climbs from the real world. There have been lots of changes throughout the years but the basic functions have remained fun and engaging when you are suffering in your pain cave. The points system is a pretty good gamification and introduces you to new routes from around the world. Disappointed that you only get a single user with a subscription now, my kids like to ride a bit but not enough to justify a full membership. Also too bad that people can no longer upload their own rides, it was fun to visit a location virtually before travelling, but there are still a lot of routes out there to find. If solo riding is your jam, Rouvy is great. I don’t care much for the social aspects of these types of programs so if you need that look elsewhere for more info. Thanks to the Rouvy team for keeping me entertained in my basement.

Awful company to deal with. Support is virtually worthless.

Ive been a rouvy user for at least 4 years. Previously, I was on bigring but moved over for the feature of being able to upload my own courses with video. They recently got rid of what I think was the most distinguishing aspect of the rouvy platform, the vast community of people uploading courses. Many of these were recorded right off the bike. See you actually get the feel rather than the way rouvy does it off of a vehicle which feels completely unrealistic because there’s no dynamics in the corners. It’s like they recorded with van. Everything is flat there are no tilt in the curves. It just takes you completely out of the experience. Then there’s a Support, which I have recently had to use because of a couple of annoying bugs and say it’s abysmal doesn’t even begin to cover it. I emailed about three specific bugs and I got back. I support message about their Black Friday sale, which had nothing to do with the topic of the bugs. It’s like they put some AI in there that is completely improperly set up. Every support email gets answered by this bought that provide support for the black Friday sale and nothing to do with the actual topic of the support request. It takes two or three emails to get through to a real human and then they said all we couldn’t read produces even though you’ve sent them the video and the steps on how to reproduce. Rouvy used to be back in there virtual training platform days, but they sold their soul and it’s now platform in decline. I wouldn’t waste your money on this

What’s the point?

Aside from providing extremely rudimentary and basic controls during the ride (I wish you could change the scale of the UI, customize UI on main screen etc.), this app makes zero sense and is completely useless. There’s no way to see my history, no way to plan my next ride, no way to see the Challenges or Workout plans I’m a part of. I can’t even find my workout plan by seatching its exact name. News? What news? It’s a blank tab for me. Ride later? Same story, blank tab. There’s a giant yellow sticky button that serves no purpose too. Can’t you find a more user friendly way to collect feedback other than this obnoxious ugly yellow circle in the corner? It looks cheap and makes your alp look cheap and bloated. Rouvy, you need to really push hard to compete with Zwift and this ain’t it. What a waste of an app and opportunity.

Billing support

Before the try in for 5 days ( free trial ) I tried to cancel but couldn’t cancel so they charge 149.00 but the app still saying buy a subscription 🤷🏻

Crashes constantly

JAAK19 on

There is no point using this app to search for routes because every time you go back to look for a different route it crashes.

Crashes, crashes, crashes

Edmos7 on

I like the purpose of the app but it is too delicate to use without frustration. I can see the upcoming events but once off the list and onto a specific ride, it crashes. Please fix.

great app HORRIBLE billing process

almost impossible to get this to work on apple TV - constantly telling me to buy a subscription and then telling me I have one already - death loop of stupidity

Helpful companion app

This is a great tool to preview courses/maps for future riding and save them so you can launch them in the game client. In game options are decent, similar to other virtual training apps.
