Samplr Reviews

The reason I bought an iPad

tizzypee on

Australia

I love this app. It’s my favourite sampler for playing live. I feel like the sound is malleable and hands on and it uses the features of the touchscreen effectively. I first tried this up about eight years ago on a friends iPad and bought an iPad so I could use the app permanently. I’m so happy it is still supported!

The Best

This app has one of the best layouts for making sample based music I’ve ever tried. It is especially great for its tactile and easy to see waveform manipulation, I love this app and will continue to use it for years to come, so much instant inspiration.

My desert-island app

I have logged so many hours jamming and noodling with Samplr. I love recording arpeggio rhythms with delay effects - and vinyl mode is great for ambient drones. Bury me with this app.

Oh yeah that’s good sampling

Love this app and it seems you are aware. Bug report for iPad 7. Select a track. Start record mix. Choose another track and play the part. Stop record and go to export to AudioShare. Export the recorded track. Go back to Samplr. Playback no longer works. Not sure if it is touch response issue or output issue. Looks like touch as the circles don’t appear when touching. Must completely shut down the app and restart for things to come back to normal. P.S. please please please implement a record to audio file function.

Still one of a kind

Sure, it hasn't been updated in some time, but this app is unmatched in what it does... Dropbox import problems, yeah sure, but there are other ways to get audio in. Make no mistake, this app is the coolestestestest

Brilliant idea, flawed implementation, constant crashes

Raaaarrrggh on

Australia

Have had heaps of fun playing with the included samples. The different tools really do turn this app into an instrument rather than a simple sampler. The problem is I cannot get the import function to work consistently. Each attempt to import .wav samples from Dropbox is met with samplr crashing. These same .wav samples do not cause problems when imported to other music apps such as notation launchpad. If I can't bring my own samples into the app than it is essentially useless. Although it's fun to play around with the included samples I really wish I hadn't wasted money on an app which (in my experience) is fundamentally flawed.

Unique Sound Shaping Tool!

MillerSound on

This app is well designed! Its easy to use and quick to start mashing sounds up.The sound engine is clean and reproduces samples very accurately. I use this from time to time in my professional Job and a Post Prodcution Sound editor/Designer as it can help me create unique sound fx very quickly. Love it!
