‡ Note that for a PDF file to import it must contain the text of the script, not just pictures of the text. Some PDFs contain scanned images of the text rather than the text itself, and the app can't import these files as it needs the actual text to work with.

Good app when it’s not crashing

This app is a useful tool for actors. I like the ability to assign each character a different voice. My complaint is that the app is really inconsistent and crashes too often.

An INVALUABLE tool for the Professional or Amateur Actor

I have used this tool for several plays over the years as both an actor and a director. It makes memorizing lines so much easier. When I act, I always use it. When I direct, I recommend it to all my cast members. I recommend it to anyone who wants to toss their personal recorder in a drawer and use a more appropriate tool for the job. FIVE STARS!!

This app is amazing with pro. Without it, you can’t do practically anything. I do like just making up scripts on it, but it would be so much better if I had pro. Over all, it’s a pretty good app, and it’s amazing if you get pro. Overall, I rate it a 3.5 out of 5

Only worth it if you pay

I downloaded the app in May 2022 before the Pro version. Before Pro, the txt to speech had amazing clear voices. You got to choose the voice and the Gender, record lines if txt to speech wasn’t for you. I used it for every thing. When Pro was introduced, all those features were locked behind a pay wall. You can’t record, the voices in txt to speech are all random per character. You either get a decent voice, or you get robots that speak so unclearly you can barely understand your lines, without being able to change the gender to match the script. It went from the best most convenient app, to an app I can hardly use. I’m all for updates and adding a Pro option for newly advanced features, except, when Pro was introduced, they didn’t add advanced features. They took the previously free features that made the app amazing and replaced them with terrible voices that make the app unusable. They made it so if you want to use the App effectively, you have to buy Pro.

Great app one little glitch. It sometimes if you change the play back settings. I shut it and restarts and it works again. I use apple iPad Air 2
