Good foundations, but still buggy
The interface is great and simple to use. I didn’t have issues with battery life and even with triple dives I was getting back onshore with 75%+. However I had issues with the watch up getting locked up and refusing to accept inputs, especially and critically accepting the input to start the dive. The touch screen was unresponsive even though underwater mode was unlocked. This got so bad that out of 10 dives, 2 of them the watch failed to accept start on surface while entering and having resort to instructors backup computer. This is just not good and would have ruined dives if not for the backup.
Second issue is that if you start the watch on the baot to be sure it working, and you do an entry that takes you below 0.3m (very common for a giant stride or roll) the dives starts then times out the dive after 2min, requiring the waterproof to be unlocked, the touch screen to work (it doesn’t with gloves on). A longer timeout would be good, or ignore anything between 0.3 and 1m from launching the timeout.
For users I strongly reprogram your action button to launch the dive, and then also accept the “fit” warning. This removes any inputs necessary from the touch screen. I also recommend setting the dive auto start depth to 1m to ignore your entry movements.

Not recommended. I am a diving instructor and i got the i watch ultra and payed 1 month for this app. Is not worth it. Is a very basic app for its cost.
You can buy a very good scuba diving computer without needing to pay any membership with lower cost or better given information. Moreover. You will be limited to 40m. After this debt the computer stops working.
If you already have the Ultra and will only be doing basic scuba diving once a year, go for it. If not, get tour self a Suunto.
Works perfectly!
Was worried after reading the reviews. Dove a few times with a rental dive computer alongside the Apple Watch. Glad to say the oceanic app with the watch worked perfectly. Ditched the rental and have been using since. Excellent dive computer!
Good when it works
My last 6 dives with it everything worked fine. Then on the 7th the app just freeze on the watch with nothing moving anymore. I was already underwater in a drift so no possibility to start it again. Those kind of issues are a bit annoying.
The application should also log the start and the end of the dive time.
The application also misses some interesting KPY like your overall air consumption per minute based on the logged dives etc…
Conclusion: it has basic feature that are nicely displayed when the dive computer works properly. But you can’t rely on it, and if you need another dive computer, plus a watch, why bother.
Shoddy app.
I’ve tried everything and searched online for solutions. The app won’t pair with my watch, and even if it does apparently you have to pay to be able to use it beyond snorkelling?! Major money grab. Disappointing.

Superb when it works, I use the computer as a back up, and the depth to stay still while in the blue.
But the odd thing is , it already happened 3 times during our trip in the Maldives that the phone switch to another app and couldn’t take videos and pictures of a Manta ray, I have no clue why , and THE APP UPDATE IS DONE.
I have to open the housing and close the app and re-connect it.
Other bug, when you treat the pictures and upload them on the phone the app crashes often.
