If you’re Russian (based on experience with players and Devs). The game is great, but to progress you must spend money. VIPs are spending $1000s, and they are identifiable by the gold frame around their avatar, they also have access to an echo service apparently, another way to find out info, or influence development of the game. When you progress through seasons there will always be a really strong Russian player (maxed out), people wonder if this is a Dev player, someone designed to make you spend more, I can’t confirm or deny that. You might find that you will chase the dream with the rest of your gang, but are they real? F2P is hard slog, so I’ll say, it’ll take a lot of hard earned cash if you want to go anywhere.

Right from the start the developers are after YOUR coin. To progress you need to spend. There are zero instructions to aid you and this leaves the player confused and vulnerable to constantly shelling out to progress. Needless to say, the main pirates in this game are the developers, AVOID nothing like the ads.

You won’t enjoy this game, you will just become whale fodder. If the developers had made the ship upgrades the same as hero upgrades in stages rather than buying your way to the top it would probable have been a more fairer game

This game was great, until we found out there are numerous players from two alliances that account share and admit it, and are on 24/7, unfortunately you cannot win against this blatant cheating, and developers are driven by greed over fairness and will not ban these players for a lifetime. No backbone, so I will not spend another penny until this is sorted and I would advise everyone to do the same.

The game is extremely addictive but extremely toxic at the same time! On the second run I encountered an unexpected problem: alliance leaders modified the rules of the game, and forbid players so many things that game became unplayable, can’t do this, can’t do that, this seasoned players who live in the game are ruining fun for casual players who want to pirate! The issue is a big problem as those “experienced” players tailor the game to there needs and play god by commanding and forbidding obvious aspects of the game! In my example they forbid attacking players during events, forbid attacking trading lines, forbid fighting for towers and forbid retaliating, minimizing fighting to a prearranged fights somewhere it’s not important, so the game became another farm game…this seasoned players should have separate servers where they can farm, leaving casuals to do what they want and play the game to its full potential…will have another go looking for a good no rules server, but otherwise I have no desire to obey stupid self created rules and play farm! Please address this issue as soon as possible!

This game is a con in that it says it is free. It is but to gain any form of strength headed for even the minimum amount of fun you need to be in an alliance and you will need to spend a minimum of £10 a month to just keep up. That said it is fun if your in a good gang and can chat to each other. The problem is that as with most games of this type it is dominated by people who spend large amounts who then bully others. The building of relationships with guilds and the trading is good. The various challenges with sea monsters and armed freighters is enjoyable but the game forces a competitive element which makes the proper pursuit of these quests impossible in the time scale unless you pay money. Avoid this game unless your happy to loose or prepared to pay a lot of cash,
