Broken on iPhone/iPad
This latest release has broken the ability to use the Seestar using an iOS/iPadOS device.
Basically it looks like the users location isn’t being passed to the device, whether this is detected automatically by the Seestar app, or entering the users location manually when prompted.
Turning off location services in ios settings you will see your location disappear from the Seetar home
screen, turning location services back on you will see your location correctly displayed in the Seestar app homescreen. The problem is that this information isn’t being passed to the Seestar by the app and this doesn’t just affect Stargazing mode but all imaging modes. In effect version 1.20 of the Seestar app turns your Seestar into a very expensive brick. You can still use the Sky Atlas to navigate, but imaging is literally impossible.
ZWO really dropped the ball in a big way on this update.
Useless
I was so happy and now everything is not working. The app doesn’t work, it’s slow, if you click tutorial or any links within the first page it takes many minutes to load content then crashes….
Seestar December 2023 update
I loved my Seestar it was the perfect goto scope all I had to do was simple just input my object I wanted to view and the Seestar went straight to it.
Now after the update my Seestar doesn’t know where any object in the sky is please ZXO can you do another to fix the problem 🙏
Connection nightmare
When it works it is fantastic. Spoiled by constant disconnects and hours wasted trying to problem solve.
Has something changed recently? There were no issues a couple months ago, now this is borderline unusable.
Great App perfect for beginners. Easy to use and works.
Needed of course to control Seestar telescope which it does brilliantly. The interface is clear and allows you find your way round the sky and choose what to image. The results are really good and you can improve the image by post processing if you wish. Highly recommended.
