Description

Shattered Pixel Dungeon is a traditional roguelike dungeon crawler RPG that's simple to get into but hard to master! Every game is a unique challenge, with five different heroes, randomized levels and enemies, and hundreds of items to collect and use. ShatteredPD is also updated every two to three months, so there's always something new.
◀ Choose Your Hero ▶
Each of ShatteredPD's five playable heroes has their own unique mechanics and gameplay style. Cut down foes as the durable Warrior or deadly Duelist, fry your enemies as the arcane Mage, or use terrain to your advantage as the stealthy Rogue or the markswoman Huntress!
As you progress through the dungeon you'll earn points to spend on talents, choose a subclass, and gain powerful lategame abilities. You can turn the Duelist into a dual-wielding Champion, the Mage into a soul-sucking Warlock, the Huntress into a tanky Warden, or explore loads of other possibilities!
◀ Explore the Dungeon ▶
ShatteredPD's dungeon is procedurally generated with random layouts, room types, items, traps, and enemies. In each game you'll find equipment and collect or craft consumable items to power you up or help you out in a pinch. There is a huge variety to what you might see from run to run and region to region.
As you progress through the dungeon you'll find equipment that can be enchanted, upgraded, and augmented as you outfit your hero. Set foes ablaze with an enchanted weapon, wade through enemies with upgraded armor, or gain powerful damage, defensive, or utility benefits from one of the many wands, rings, or magical artifacts.
◀ Succeed or Die Trying ▶
The Dungeon is filled with enemies, traps, hazards, and bosses intent on ending your run! Battle hostile wildlife in the sewers and caves, mad thieves and guards in the prison, occult servants in the fallen dwarven city, and maybe something even worse further down...
All these hazards can make the game quite tough, but don't be discouraged! You probably won't win on your first try, but there are many tricks and strategies to discover and learn on the path to getting your first win!
◀ Over A Decade in the Making ▶
Shattered Pixel Dungeon is an open source game based on the source code of Pixel Dungeon by Watabou (first released in late 2012). It started in 2014 as a project to rebalance Pixel Dungeon but has steadily grown into its own game over the last 8 years!

Honestly the one of best roguelikes on any platform

I’ve played ‘em all. Shattered Pixel Dungeon is one of the best, if not the best roguelike out there. Also it’s hard to find good mobile games, let alone ones that aren’t just harvesting all your data. This is a great game, and it isn’t just some prettied-up spyware like most mobile games. It’s such a good game that I’d say it’s easily in top 5 roguelikes in existence on any platform, and a definite contender for best overall.

Great stuff

palletguru on

The best traditional roguelike on iOS. It's obvious from the start: this developer really cares about the details of a well-designed dungeon crawl. I love the discovery based onboarding process. The game mechanics are not overwhelming, yet allow for interesting choices as you make your way down to collect Rodney's doodad. I was a Testflight player, and loved how this game came together. Fast forward a few years to now, and I am floored by how much more work has been put in to make this amazing game even better.

Awesome!!!

Developers take note. We need more games like this. Rouge-like done right. Buy with complete confidence. Worth every penny at twice the price. Buy once, play forever. I look forward to anything else this man makes. Excellent work!

Great

A little slow getting into it, as there is little in the way of tutorial, but it’s fun.

I never write reviews

After spending $60,000 on Diablo immortal, $30,000 on Mu Immortal or whatever it’s called, $10,000 on Infinite Lagrange and $80,000 on summoners war, it’s disappointing to discover that this $5 game is better than all of them and more fun. Games where whoever is the richest with the most disposable income are boring. Trust fund babies and people with a liquidity of $10M + will always be the king in those games. Get this, beat it. You will have fun and feel accomplished. After four or five days I beat it with an assassin rogue, got a plate +2 early. Learn the alchemy recipes and learn to use line of sight. Save all your potions because you will need them on the boss fight. You can alchemy a potion of strength to take two strength requirement off any weapon or armor.

Challenging but fun!

Worth the money.

Of all of the app games I have ever played, this is BY FAR my favorite. No matter how many times I play, I never get tired of it, and the ongoing improvements and additions always make it more interesting and challenging.

Tidy dungeon crawler perfect for commutes!

fishrule on

Varied adventures on each floor with unique characters. There’s a touch of story for a little extra spice and intrigue, but no frustrating cut scenes or blocks — perfect for commuting!! The game also handles very smoothly.
