Description

"I've tried other DBT apps and none of them come close to this one. It's a real life saver... literally!"
"I'm so glad to see someone help people who does DBT. VERY VERY good app."
Dialectical Behavior Therapy Skills are a must, not just for people who have BPD (Borderline Personality Disorder), but for just about anyone living in this world alongside others.
Are they necessary skills? No. Could anyone benefit from them? Yes.
DBT Skills Groups are booked out weeks and often times months in advance. This means that if you want to get in one, you may be waiting for a long long time, especially if NOW is when you need help.
DBT Skills Groups focus on SKILLS. This means that practicing the skills is much more important than anything else. And luckily, once you learn the skills, you will retain them for the rest of your life!
If you are practicing DBT Skills and want a Diary Card, this app is great for you since it has the following:
• A Calendar to add a Daily Diary Card with 28 DBT skills.
• Descriptions of each skill if you forget
• Examples of each skill
• Premium Users have access to 28 Original Videos for the 28 DBT Skills.
• Statistical information based on 1 day, 7 days, 28 days, or ALL records. That way if you are in a weekly DBT class, you can easily see which skills you have been focusing on, and which you have been missing.
• A Notification reminder that you can set to remind you daily at a specific time to do your DBT Skills Diary Card.
• Beautiful photos and artwork along with a backdrop that changes based on what season we are in (Summer, Autumn, Winter, Spring).
• Add your own music to the DBT Skills Diary Card to make the experience more enjoyable.
• Full Version Users: You can now send PDF files with your diary card stats + notes via email, or print to your AirPrint printer straight from within the app. Email your therapist/counselor with just a few taps in an easy to read and print format!
• As part of our series of DBT apps, your progress will be saved between apps as well, so you'll have access to all your data no matter which DBT app you are in.
• Earn Messages Stickers as you progress. Send them to friends via a text!
• Unlock more than 1 type of Diary Card so you can continue doing your daily card in a format that fits your lifestyle!
• Want to track extra information? Though DBT classes don't require it, you can add custom tracking data for each Daily Diary Card entry. Of course, since this is optional, you simply need to toggle it on to start tracking right away.
a) Track Anxiety and Depression using a modified K10 test.
b) Track Target Behaviors and your response to them.
c) Track Emotions to see your range and average mood over time.
This is the most enjoyable DBT Skills Diary Card in the App Store! Download it today!
* Note that this app can integrate with the Health App by adding 'Mindful Minutes' when you complete Diary Card entries. This is optional and giving permission will not affect your ability to use this app.

Thank you. This helps me a lot.

Good app, bad grammar.

The app is great. You might want to run these cards and examples through a spell checker. There are a lot of errors. I would like to use this professionally for my clients and have a hard time referring them to something simple when simple spelling cannot be addressed.

No Target Behaviors or interval ratings

TL/DR: I cannot recommend this app for anyone who is in therapy and/or at-risk of harm to themselves or others. Users are unable to self-report self-harm, SI, substance use, unhealthy eating, or otherwise acting out. All entries are only Yes/No with no options for 0-5 or 0-7 interval ratings of skills, emotions, or distress tolerance. I really liked this app when I first began looking for a DBT diary card. The free version was fairly intuitive and use immediately. It has some nice mindfulness pieces incorporated, and there would be no more paperwork for myself or my Care Team. I could complete my entries and simply email them before my sessions. However, my Therapist suggested at my first session that I may want to consider migrating away from this app. Which I did. It does not capture any self-reporting of Target Behaviors for self-harm, SI, substance use, gambling, unhealthy eating, etc. And it doesn’t have the ability to add them, even if you purchase the additional modules. It actually made me feel unsafe that such a crucial part of my recovery—one that’s on every DBT diary card I’ve ever seen—was missing. It would seem like those risks would be the part to structure an app around, so I’m disappointed the developers didn’t include it. It’s as if there were no involvement or oversight from mental health professionals, or the developers were worried about safeguarding themselves. Either way, this is not an appropriate app for people who are at-risk. Ironically, the other missing piece is that all of the self-reporting that is available has a simple Yes/No response. This is an appropriate input for those missing Target Behaviors that were just mentioned, but the more accepted approach is a 0-7 and 0-5 ranking. My Therapist and I have no way of seeing whether I am unwilling, unable, or moving towards mastery of skills, or the strength of any emotions or distress I am experiencing. This is another significant gap for successful recovery. There are some useful parts to app and why I have kept it. The first is the 28 Skills Overview. Each has a definition that differs from Linehan, so I had an increased understanding of them. They also have a short scenario of what they might look like in actual practice, which I also found valuable. Finally, there is a Chain Analysis portion which I haven’t seen on other apps. I also haven’t had the opportunity to use it, so I can’t rate its suitability or if it’s flexible enough. This seems like an activity th
