The app is compact, elegant and easy to navigate. It’s aesthetically pleasing and, so far, functions well. Unfortunately, the transaction choices are limited to only buy and sell- no dividend options.
*Subtracting a star due to unresponsiveness of developer.
Functionality
The program charged me $2.99. It crashes every couple of minutes, won’t accept input such as DODGX a Dodge and Cox mutual fund and the functions mostly aren’t live. If the app worked I imagine it would be pretty good. Unfortunately it hasn’t worked for me so far.
Very good portfolio tracker
Simple to use on an iPhone with a nice display of buy price and current price with profit and loss. Adding preferred stock current price would be nice as would adding cash on hand or ability to add a money market fund with a set value so the entire portfolio would be accounted for. All in all, a fine app for tracking.
Simple & Efficient
One of the best portfolio apps I’ve used in awhile mainly for the simple user friendly interface. Navigation is quick, simple, clean and very intuitive to the essential information you need without overdoing it. If you’re into Apple Watch companion app even better.
Just what I wanted
A simple stock tracker that syncs with my Mac an other Apple devices. I was up and running in about 15 minutes. Would have been sooner but i had to start over to get the data on both desktop and iPhone. I like the display on both. Worth a large cup of fine coffee.
Brilliant design and just the right information!
I rarely write reviews but want to applaud the developer for a well-designed app that is informative and un-bloated line so many others. I love tracking my investments now!
Perfect for Tracking Open and Closed Positions
This was just what I was looking for. Great for tracking both my open and closed positions. Simple to use, very intuititve, and displays the data just the way I want it. Amazing that it is a free app, but I absolutely felt it was well worth contributing to the developer.
Not user intuative .
Not user intuative . No way to enter a stock and price payed. Too many blanks to fill in. No idea what some of the spaces to fill in mean. No instructions.
Great, simple app
A great, simple app - delivers exactly what it promises, with a very small memory and CPU footprint. I used to leave Quicken open just to get a quick glance at what this app offers at a much smaller system resource footprint.
The only thing I'm not terribly fond of (but not enough to remove a star) is the interface. It's intuitive and pleasant looking, though I'm more of a table/spreadsheet person. I'd prefer the option to observe, add and remove stocks on a single table/spreadsheet. It's not a huge deal though.
Nice and Tidy
Simple Stocks probably won't take the place of your broker account app, but is much more appealing to look at and check your balances throughout the day. Everything is big and bright and gives you a quick overview of what is happening to your portfolio. I use it on my mac and iPhone and even have it as a complication on my watch. It's beautiful and helpful.
