How much does Simple Stocks cost?
Simple Stocks has several in-app purchases/subscriptions, the average in-app price is 156.50 ₱.
This app is exactly what I was looking for. I entered my data sparing 6 hours. It worked fine for 4 days and then crashed!! Since then, it is not opening on iPhone, Mac, or iPad. I should have spent time entering the same data into excel. Anyway, I used ChatGPT to prepare an excel template to provide this exact same output for no cost!!
Not particularly simple and a subscription
The UI is glitzy but not intuitive enough to be called “simple” for me. I was looking for an app where I could add my stock activity, see how many of each holding, avg. cost, sell, profit, loss etc. … this app may do that but I have to hunt all over to find each piece of information. The pie charts look okay, but are not helpful for my simple needs. I purchased the app about 3-4 days before the developer went to a subscription plan (I hate them and no longer support ANY subscription apps).
I have had to select the apps I use based on no subscriptions. I’ll happily buy an app, but getting roped into an expensive subscription is not for me. If you’ve got LOTS of money subscriptions may suit you, I don’t, so must buy only what I need based on cost/value not subscription entanglement.
Not very intuitive!
The layout is Glitzy, but absolutely non-intuitive.
A Pages or Excel spreadsheet with a just putting in a few minutes effort would provide much easier to read and useful information.
Just after I purchased the app the developer "DISCOVERED" how to go to subscription pricing. I have had to select the apps I use based on NO subscriptions. I’ll happily buy a reasonably priced app, but getting roped into another useless subscription, no way!
Simple 10 stock portfolio
It crashes once per day. Takes 2-3 reloads before it comes back up. Good thing I use it for tracking test strategies and not real money.
All entered data missing
It’s a good app with many helpful features but everything I entered was erased at some point, probably just after the most recent app update. Everything gone.
Manual Entry, and No Mutual Funds
Nix one star for having to enter everything manually instead of any import or sync-with-account function which, realistically, means no historical data unless you an recreate each transaction from before you started using the app. Nix second star for not allowing mutual funds. The app’s name is “Simple Stocks,” so that part is dead-on honest: stocks. But the subcategory says “Portfolio Tracker,” which is way off: not your full investment portfolio if you have any mutual funds.
Superb App
I’ve been using this for about 15 months. It is easy, efficient , well designed, simple, and a pleasure to use.
Very good, but missing…
The app is compact, elegant and easy to navigate. It’s aesthetically pleasing and, so far, functions well. Unfortunately, the transaction choices are limited to only buy and sell- no dividend options.
*Subtracting a star due to unresponsiveness of developer.
Simple, all right
does not include ETFs...worthless
Functionality
The program charged me $2.99. It crashes every couple of minutes, won’t accept input such as DODGX a Dodge and Cox mutual fund and the functions mostly aren’t live. If the app worked I imagine it would be pretty good. Unfortunately it hasn’t worked for me so far.
