Almost every time I try to log in (not every time but MOST times), enter my password and get a pop up that says “We’re sorry. We are unable to complete this request. Please try again later. (0001)” . I’ll then go and log in just fine on my mobile browser or laptop, so it’s not a password issue or any problem involving typing in the wrong information. Just a completely dysfunctional and useless (literally) app. Extremely frustrating. Please get it together. Embarrassing look for simplii. Total garbage honestly.

Finally bit the bullet and upgraded the app, leaving behind a professional look and embracing garish. —— They’re also evidently doing everything by hand, since they’re painfully slow at just about anything which involves more than a few dollars. It’s difficult to find another reason for almost any transaction to another bank to take a full five business days to go through, and after years of literally spotless personal banking practices, having cheque deposits over a shockingly low amount held for five business days. —— I use Simplii because it’s a free chequing account, and almost none of my other banking is with this ridiculous bank. I don’t want to pay extortion-level fees for chequing, but this doesn’t mean I enjoy a bank which has long since decided to bail on their decade+ customers. —— I use Simplii in spite of CIBC - not because of them.

When making a bill payment or transfer, the date selection tool yakes me the most of time to use and to make mistakes. It dies nit show the calendar with the days of the week and the selection looks cool but clumsy to use.

But the app needs major work. For example, once you send an e-transfer, the confirmation page has two buttons on the bottom, send another and view accounts. When you click view accounts, the button animates like it has accepted the action, but then nothing happens. And unrelated, but why is the Apple Pay card displayed as the old design still…

Transfer fund from my husband account to my account and simplify freeze my money

As a serious adult who couldn’t believe the garish colours on this rebranding, I closed all of my accounts and GICs this weekend, and moved to CIBC.

I attempted an international wire transfer from the UK to my Simplii chequing account using the information they provided. The transfer was rejected, and I received no communication from Simplii about the issue. I was charged $40 (even though their stated fee is $10, confirmed by a customer service rep). They couldn’t explain why the transfer was rejected or the extra charge. To investigate, they wanted to charge me an additional $35—just to possibly provide an answer, even with a tracing number from the sending bank. The lack of transparency and excessive fees make this experience incredibly frustrating. Now my options are to try again and double the normal associated cost before even counting the extra unexplainable $40 charge so this transfer will cost at least $140 assuming it works the second time, or find an alternative bank.

Terrible customer service at simple bank. I called for customer service, they are rude and unhelpful, showing no interest in assisting customers. This is unacceptable for a bank. Please train your staff to treat customers with respect and professionalism.
