Always use Skinny when we come to New Zealand visiting our daughter and grandchildren. Usually here for about six weeks so it is ideal to bring a spare phone over to use.

The Skinny app makes it easy to manage your account – check your balance, top up, and customise your plan with Add-Ons when you’re on the go.
Do your thing better with the Skinny app:
1. Top up using a voucher, your pre-registered card, or a new card.
2. Check your balance and see if you’re running low on minutes, texts, or data.
3. Get unlimited data for up to 12 hours with Data Binge – perfect for any online bingeing sessions.
4. Manage your plan and Add-Ons ¬– check what plan you’re on and customise it with Add-Ons. You can even switch to a new plan if you want to mix it up.
There are heaps of other cool things that you can do on the app, like transferring credit to your mates, or gifting them with data or minutes. Download the app and start making the most of it.
The app is free, but just a heads up: You’ll use a little bit of data downloading it, so be savvy and hook into some Wi-Fi if you’re running low on data.

In the setup you’ll need to enter your mobile number in one of the following ways:

Confusing
Not sure Why I keep getting text messages informing me of reducing credit and asking for top-ups when allegedly I have unlimited data this weekend, unlimited texts & calls to NZ numbers & I paid 10$ for an add on for 300 minutes for International calls 🤔 all within a 17$ 28 day plan

App thinks the date is the 1st January 1970 and has done since I first tried it six months ago. Useless piece of trash
Nearly there
Looks a lot better but the dashboard which is supposed to show you the amount of data left does not work
Finally!
App froze upon installation. Entered in the code from the text and it said woohoo but stuck on the loading screen. Had to exit in an out to get the initial installation working. Also forced to place debit card in there for auto pay only. No one off pay option that is available with web online log in. All info is on app which is handy though :)

Not so happy
Hi I am not that impressed with skinny lately I had to get a new card but they didn’t remind me about rolling over the new date so I didn’t have a chance to update the card and I couldn’t find a way to delete the old one. Also the coverage doesn’t seem as good as it used to be where I live so I might look at changing sometime.
Poor customer service
Worst customer service ever had. Not supportive.. no stores available.. if we call them.. they are checking / talking in between in their own language
Data
Your data connection is worse. I have data but the speed of it is like dial up internet it’s ridiculous! I wonder why it’s so cheap - not a good company if you wanna use data!!!
