This app works perhaps 1 in 50 times. The rest of the time it just crashes on my iPhone 3GS, and not just in one spot. It is really bad. Unfortunately this app is the only way to get any data logged by the XGPS160 device off the device. The device isn't recognised in Windows, and you cannot get to the data through iTunes: you HAVE to use this app to get to the data and email it to yourself, in KMF format. But the app just keeps crashing, and crashing, and crashing, and crashing. I have uninstalled the app, reinstalled it, rebooted the phone, the device, in all possible combinations … nothing makes a difference. Why am I logging the data in the device and am trying to get it off? Over the weekend I tried to use the device to record the route of a 160 km car trip. I connected the device to my iPhone through Bluetooth, and tried to use Wahoo Fitness and Galileo to record the route. Unfortunately the combination just didn’t work. It appeared like the Bluetooth connection kept dropping. The device was fully charged, and I tried the iPhone connected to a charger in the car and without connecting it to a charger in the car. In the end I gave up trying to use the device to provide more reliable GPS data to my iPhone 3GS than the iPhone’s inbuilt gear can, and just the let the device record the route. But I cannot get the data off either, because the app keeps crashing. Perhaps it’s just my combination of an iPhone 3GS running iOS 6.1.6 connecting to the XGPS160 through Bluetooth that is the cause of the Bluetooth connectivity problems, and the iPhone 3GS/Bluetooth/XGPS160/Dual GPS SkyPro app combination that causes the app to keep crashing with such a very high probability. However, if you have this combination, be warned: it isn’t working for me. UPDATE I managed to get my data off the device with the app running on an iPad I was lucky enough to borrow for a few days. On the iPad the app didn't crash on me at all. It even let me update the firmware on the xgps160 from 1.2.0 to 1.3.0, which the app couldn't do on the iPhone 3GS because it just kept crashing (I must have tried 100 times). Perhaps the bluetooth connectivity will be more stable now with the new firmware. So basically on the iPhone 3GS the app is unusable, you'll need an iPad. Is anybody able to use the app on something other than an iPad?

Was wondering does it work on apple and google maps or the device is able to just connect to those apple and android products?

I bought the XGPS150 to link with my iPad Pro 10.5. It worked great for a few years, then would not link to its own APP. IN FRUSTRATION, I downloaded the Owner’s Manual. While reading I came across the Mode Switch part, about choosing between Android and iOS. Looking at mine, the switch was set for iOS. But, I moved it to Android position and back to iOS position. EUREKA! It connects to the APP again. Okay, I love it again.

Dreadful

The app barely functions. Expect to go up to 1/2 hour to pair with the receiver. B/T looks forever and most of the time never finds the unit.

Upgraded the firmware to 4.2.4 and nothing works anymore. Piece of garbage.

Works with my iPad pro but not iPhone 12.

Works great

I am recommending the Dual Electronics 150 or 160 to a friend since I have both. Purchased the 150 probably 7 years ago and it works great with the app for off-roading. Decided to get the 160 model 2 years ago so I could connect to both my iPad and iPhone via Bluetooth at the same time. I use this strictly with off-roading apps like Gaia here in the southwest and have been very happy with it.
