Skyscanner – matkatarjoukset

Every tap on this app, or even opening it from homescreen requires ‘prove that you’re not a bot’ and if you do , then it gives the message again and again. Not able to use the app anymore.

1. In flight details view, there’s the “View details” button/link (am I not viewing the details already according to the title text of the view?). Would it be possible to show those details right away and not make people “exercise their thumb”? There’s quite some space on the screen even on iPhone mini below the card with the destination name, etc. Just display the connection details already on that screen. Otherwise your app is a candidate for grumpy.website 🙂 2. This is a bit more complex one. But could you improve the “Best” filtering in quick search results? Maybe introduce some sort of machine learning that learns what prices and flight durations I find acceptable and shows me those. Otherwise for some destinations I see only direct flights that cost thousands of dollars or 40-hour flights that cost “mere hundreds”. Why is it so bad at showing balanced results in some cases? Also in those cases I can always (I believe) find cheaper and better routes. Why does SkyScanner fall short there? Come on! We need a travel-planning “assistant” which takes into account which visas I have, what are my preferred departure (and maybe arrival) times and so on. Also you could offer a bit more “intelligence” on some logistical aspects, like transfers, etc. For instance, international transfers in Chinese airports work differently from many other places. Why make people research that online every time, and not offer some hints directly in the app? Thank you.

Very useful in general, and usually reliable. However, two important search features are missing: 1) You can’t show a price calendar with only direct flights to the destination. The price calendar ignores your filters, and shows lowest price for flights with 2+ stopovers, even if that is not what you are looking for. 2) You can’t filter by stopover length. Sometimes you don’t want shortest possible stopover, you might even want to spend a day or an evening in the city before boarding your connecting flight.

We booked a flight through skyscanner, but the agency ended up scamming us, so beware!

En pääse varaamaan lentoja, hotelleja tai autoja, sillä nappulat eivät toimi. Puhelimessani ei ole kosketusnäyttövikoja muissa sovelluksissa. Päivitin Skyscannerin, mutta vika ei korjautunut. Joudun siis käyttämään internet-sivustoa. Muilla tavoin Skyscanner on helppokäyttöinen ja todella hyödyllinen! :)

Unfortunately the basic functionality was over-engineered and the app has passed its golden days. I can even formulate a user story if it helps: “As a mid 20 female user of the app, when I am looking to book a flight, I want to see as many specific options and compare them as fast as possible, so that I can make a fast decision” I want a calendar with colors symbolizing prices, not a long list of potential random dates when I am looking for cheaper dates. The whole Explore thing is an extra that was bot needed. Even if you are “just planning”, there is always a chance to find such a good price that you book it immediately. Also, Skyscanner was a search engine : fast, veratile, and reliable. Not anymore. Now it is just a bunch of travel planning functions no one needs. I used Skyscanner for 10+ years and was happy every time. Now I have to say, I am more often booking directly and searching via other aggregators. So sad :( Also, Time filter does not respond to changing times even when I click apply.
