Description

*Apple Watch not required, works for iPhone or Apple Watch*
Slow Eats is a timer app designed to help you slow down and stay mindful during meals, fostering a healthier connection with food and supporting weight loss. With its simple functionality and clean design, Slow Eats offers a user-friendly experience that is both easy to navigate and highly effective.
Slow Eats works in the background which means you can set your timer and then keep your phone in your pocket for the rest of the meal while it discreetly vibrates you to alert you when to eat or take a break.
Slow Eats works with just your iPhone or you can download the Apple Watch app for an even more low-profile and seamless experience.
Eating slowly has many possible benefits:
● Promotes weight loss by giving your brain more time to receive fullness signals
● Helps you better absorb the nutrients in your food
● Improves digestion
● Makes you feel calmer and more in control
● Increases your enjoyment of food
Choose between three types of timers:
● Bite Timer: Slow down how fast you eat by creating a set pause between each bite.
● Meal Timer: Slow down how fast you eat by defining set eating and break windows during your meal.
● Seconds Timer: Create a mindful pause before you get more. Give yourself time to feel full before deciding you need more.

~ What users are saying about the app ~
"I’ve never written an app review before, but I need to write one for this app. I got an Apple Watch and was determined to use it to lose weight. Between closing my rings and using this app, I have lost over 25 lbs. Even more important than any one accomplishment: it helped heal my unhealthy relationship with food."
"I eat way too fast. I get hungry and just smash my dinner every day and then often feel bad from over eating. This app is exactly what I was looking for. It’s simple, it’s easy to use, and it works. I love how I don’t have to watch a timer I just wait for the tap on my wrist. I’m already building healthier eating habits by using this app. THANK YOU!!"
"Have been trying to slow down and be able to better listen to my fullness cues when I eat! This watch app does the trick!"
"I tell anyone who will listen how much I love this app. I have the icon on my watch face and I use it for every meal and snack. So easy to use and it has helped me so much as I’ve been trying to slow down while eating. Another bonus is that the developers are so responsive and helpful! Hands down my favorite app!"
"I enjoyed dinner tonight utilizing the bite timer. It was amazing how quickly I got full and how easy it was to stop when I was comfortable and not when I had pushed my pouch to its limit and felt sick for an hour or so as I have in the past. Just bringing my awareness to how I was eating has me starting out from a great place as I try to lose my regain."

Great app!

I have two recommendations if it can possibly happen in the future: - freedom regarding the timing not limited to 3mins. Let the individual choose how long he wants it to take - freedom regarding the number of times we would like it to happen and not limit it a 3 times as we may want it for longer. In brief just give us more freedom using the app that would be great. Thank you for the amount of work and thought put in the app I really enjoy using it a lot.

Awesome

So far I love this app. I initially lost 60 pounds doing intuitive eating but slacked. So, this app helps me get back on track and slow down when I eat. I just wish I could use both meal timer and bite timer at the same time. Overall great app.

Great too for mindful eating

I’ve been trying to slow down my eating and this Slow Eats app helps me slow down between bites and enjoy my food. I tend to eat fast when I’m stressed and I am able to train myself to slow down without staring at a timer or clock. The timer can be customized for how long to wait between bites. It even has a timer to use if I want to wait before getting a second helping. It works on my iPhone and my Apple Watch and it has sound or vibration setting so I can use it without anyone knowing. I am eating less food, enjoying it more and I’m having less stomach aches and losing weight!

A real eye opener!

I knew I was a fast eater, but this app has helped me realize how crazy fast I was eating and has helped me slow down. You can set the amount of time between bites, add breaks into your meal, and set a timer for how long to wait after your meal before deciding to get a second helping. It also tracks your total meal time. It’s really cool! So glad I found it. I plan to use it frequently.

Has really helped me get a better relationship with food

This app is worth it. The only thing I can tell you is to use it as much as possible. The more you use it the healthier you get.

Developer is very responsive!

This app is just what I need to help me slow down eating. The developer responded very quickly when I asked for a change to one of the features (increase the bite time to allow 3 minutes between bites) and they added it in one day. Definitely worth the small cost.

Wow, so easy to use! And effective!!

I enjoyed dinner tonight utilizing the bite timer. It was amazing how quickly I got full and how easy it was to stop when I was comfortable. I did not push my pouch to its limit and then feel sick for an hour or so as I have in the past. This was a daily occurrence because I was eating so fast that I would eat to much before I realized I was full. Just bringing my awareness to how I was eating has me starting out from a great place as I try to lose my regain. Thank you again for the amazing app. As an aside, I want to thank Shannon for her amazingly fast response to my questions and for taking the time to fully explain and ensure I understood the in’s and out’s of this app. Thank you for listening, responding, and explaining the different ways to utilize the app. I look forward to more apps from this developer.

Responsive

I’ve never used an app where the developer literally responds to every question I asked and adds every feature I sought. This is a great app! The added pause feature is very helpful. Still use this app almost everyday. I love apps that do one thing really well and don’t grab my private info. This is one of those. Developer is super responsive. The haptic change works great! Wow! I revised my rating from 1 to 4 because I was frustrated that I lost the Watch app entirely when they upgraded. They responded super quick and, boom, it was back up and running! The only change I would seek in this app is a stronger haptic signal. I assume that is a limitation of the Apple Watch but unfortunately, it limits the usefulness of what would otherwise be the perfect app for it to function as a meal timer. It’s just too subtle sometimes to alert me that my time is up. Otherwise, it helps me pay attention to my eating time, does it straight from my watch, and doesn’t need, have, or share my data. Trifecta.

Great App

The developer is very responsive to email inquiries. I love the reminder to not load up my fork while eating the prior bite. It’s very easy to use and free is a great price.
