Finally Done With Nikon

Chaoticharmony7 on

United States

I have tried to put up with the connectivity issues for more than a decade between my 2 Nikon cameras. After seeing how easily my daughter can connect her Sony A7 I am going to go ahead and make the move to Sony. I have been a die hard Ninon user since my first DSLR almost 2 decades ago. The quality has gone down hill and support is nonexistent. This app is downright horrendous even for the tech savvy. For those who aren’t as familiar with technology it would be a deal breaker.

Not stable

Nice approach for the app, but the connection to camera is often unstable.

I have been using this app with my new Zf for the last few month. In general it works, but it is very inconsistent for me. I use it mostly to access photos on the camera and transfer them to my phone (iPhone 14 pro) for sharing and 99% of the time it takes two or three tries so accomplish the task. It pairs well, connects to camera’s WiFi, and I can see the photos; select those I want to grab, and ….. fail. Try again. Often fails. Close app, reconnect to cameras WiFi - works perfectly. Always takes at least two tries. I often star my favorite shots on the camera, and if i choose to show only those stared on the app - it always takes two tries at the least. Perhaps a big? Honestly quite annoying. I haven’t used the remote operations much so not much feedback yet for that. The few times I have toyed with it have had success. I had high hopes for seamless, efficient photo transfer from camera to phone …. And still waiting. Hopefully Nikon can put some resources into making this a 5 star app. Until then - will keep trying - again - and again.

App is incredibly buggy and unresponsive.

I have 4 Nikon brand cameras, none of which connect to this app. The app will allow me to discover the device, tap it to pair, and then just send me back to the home page with no linked camera after the pairing has completed. I was really looking forward to having a nice camera I could easily dump photos onto my phone with, but in the end I think i’m going to sell these and check into some other brands. I would not recommend, save your money for a company that actually innovates and tries to perfect things. Upon some research, this app has given thousands of other users the same issues for years now without them attempting to fix the problems.

License agreement?

pghcityofchampions on

Developers, Why do I need to accept the license agreement every time I open the app? This is a huge waste of time and detracts from user experience

No Longer Works

javaxpert on

I have been unable to connect my D3500 with my iPhone 14 running iOS 17.5 the process quits right after I select the camera in accessory list. No reset, reinstall or restart can fix the problem. The app is useless now.

ZERO STARS-DONT BUY NIKON

Pop lover123 on

United States

this app is SO infuriating it makes me want to never buy another nikon camera. no matter what I do or what phone I use IT WILL NOT CONNECT. the photos are blurry on the phone as I try to select them so I can’t even tell what i’m selecting. click the wrong button at all and it all goes wrong. Takes me at least an hour to connect my phone every time. TERRIBLE APP! I would give it ZERO STARS if I could!
