Beware Day Pass has a throttling limit of 1.5G (which is not specified or advertised anywhere by Solis). Once throttled service becomes unusable.

Every year my international business trips would costs me thousands on data roaming - my wife would kill me when I got home! This device has literally saved my marriage and reduced my bills. Coverage is good and speed not too bad. But the big win for me is cost. I’m happy to have access over speed for a price I can manage.

Great concept, great idea but the app is a disappointment. The app has never worked the first time I open it, I have to close and restart several times. I try to buy a day pass and it fails, I have to log in through Safari to purchase the day pass. I had to “clock on” the “active day pass” option seven times for it to be successful. The support team is 10/10 responding with a detailed answer to several technical enquires but the app is great in appearance and idea only. Hopefully this can be improved then the whole experience from start to finish would be 5/5.

We’ve had our Solis for over a year now and used in all ports of call on our cruise between Shanghai and Dubai. The USD $99 deal is good value and we connected easily in Shanghai, Okinawa, Hong Kong, Bangkok, Singapore, Phuket, Colombo, Muscat and Dubai. Earlier this year 2019 it worked on Koh Yao Noi (a tiny island between Phuket and Krabi) and even on the way there from Phuket on a longtail boat. Recently it worked perfectly in Egypt and on a Nile river cruise plus all around Morocco - where we had the occasional dead spot in the desert. It was great along the Croatian and Greek coasts too. It is great even on typical European river cruises so It’s a pity it doesn’t work on ocean cruises 😂👍 Hopefully it will work around the USA next month... I would score it 10/10!

I’ve only just bought the Solis device and I was trying to get it going using the app which I downloaded to my iPhone. It never seems to connect but I only waited a few minutes so maybe I need to wait longer. I’m not sure why I have to wait at all. I decided to use the website instead via safari. I got through eventually after contacting the help support people via email. I got an answer within a couple of hours and they seemed to have applied more credit to my account so I was able to connect to the web this time to view my account and buy more credit. But the app still isn’t connecting at all. I’m still waiting to go on holidays to use the device. So I don’t know if it works yet. But it will be good if I can get it going. I find the instructions a little too brief and would prefer more details on the website or in the quick start guide.

When you reach a couple of gigabytes through this box you’ll suddenly be throttled to 500kbps for the remainder of the day. Its seems to be an arbitrary amount. For extra fun and giggles emails on this topic to support simply get you a cut n paste form reply. Choose another product if you can.

I purchased in Singapore about 2 weeks ago. I cannot get 4G speed or unlimited data in a capital city after 3 days... phoney

Purchased and used in Australia Malaysia Indonesia Thailand Vietnam England. Does exactly what it says it will do. Purchased unlimited while travelling for a few months have used on islands like Lembongan Koh Samui and Phu Quoc used in tourist hot spots like Kuta Phuket etc also used across country on buses through countries and the signal was always good just turn on and wait five mins and you are good to go. Five devices was more than enough for two of us and when we were with friends we could share the hotspot so they could do things securely in north east Bali etc. Weirdly only country to have slight problems with speed and signal was Malaysia in KL but it wasn’t completely useless just slow. I like it because you don’t have to keep getting new SIM cards for your phone and each time you hit a country you are connected straight away also out and about so many travellers had to buy a drink to use WiFi where as we didn’t have to worry! Five stars and I will be travelling in Europe and around the uk next and will probably have it on hand and buy a day pass to use to supplement my mobile contract while travelling and lend to others in the family as you can turn on and off the unlimited subscription whenever you want!

This has hands down changed my life for the better. I can work across multiple devices, anywhere in the world and I don’t have to worry about what country I’m in, how much data I’ve used, what contract I’m locked into. You have to get their device to work with the app but seriously as a business owner I actually it’s the best product I’ve ever bought. I’ve never left a review for anything before but this is so good I couldn’t not share the news with other travellers/ business people. This is going to be my Christmas presents to my whole family and have already recommended it to other business travellers and friends. I was so lucky to stumble across their website. Well done guys you have just won yourself a serious fan. I honestly wish you the greatest success in the world and can’t wait to watch how you disrupt a whole industry globally with your little orange box!
