The app shows quite a lot of useful/interesting information but it’s really intolerant of quirks. If you reboot your router or the mesh reconfigures itself, the device is offline for a week until it decides to try again. Users just want a reliable application that “just works”. IMO someone needs to start from a blank piece of paper and decide what the user wants to see and how to use it then create an app that does that. This app seems to have been created by developers who know all the details but cannot present it in a meaningful way to people who don’t (I’m a developer but acknowledge my weaknesses!). Lots of the help screens/videos are in Chinese. Unfortunately my Chinese isn’t good enough to make them useful.

Seems fairly reliable but just so complicated to use. Would love to be able to set my batteries to sell to the grid but the menus and description just make that difficult to do. The given charge prices can’t be set to tariffs you might be on. The charts are also small to read. Probably should have gone a Tesla powerwall

When it works it’s ok. V poor non calibrated graphs. But the recent update nov 24 has led to the inverter magically now not being able to connect to WiFi. When it was perfectly well able to before. Line of sight to WiFi antenna so should be no issue with strength. With app non functional there’s limited usability of the of the entire system. It’s really pretty poor. And my installer says it’s literally just happened to all her clients. So it’s not just me. And Solis is REFUSING to acknowledge the problem and says it’s merely my own weak WiFi. Really poor service and product. Would definitely not recommend and would actively avoid.

Don’t expect real time data. It’s great for historical data. It’s really interesting to see how much energy you have generated daily

…with a few issues. The app is really good for checking generation status and looking at historic data. It also allows me to set charging schedules for my battery although the route to this is complex and took me a long time to learn how to do it. I only discovered I could charge my battery after a comment I saw on Twitter. A major issue is the app is utterly useless at working out earnings from the excess energy exported to the grid. It should be easy. I currently get 15p for each kWh exported. The problem is the app thinks I get paid 15p for every kWh generated. Feed in tariffs ended in the UK years ago, I only get paid for what I export. I’m glad I chose a Solis inverter, it has worked really well, the desktop app is much better than the mobile app (please can we have an app for tablets, rather than just one for smartphones!) There is a huge amount of data collected and Solis have been very helpful when there have been issues. You have to learn how to ‘raise a ticket’ to get the help, but that is probably because Solis are more geared to a business use rather than domestic.

This app really helps us to understand our patterns of energy usage and optimise them for solar production. While there is a small lag in usage data, that hasn’t impeded our planning at all. The main display is clear and allows us to see very quickly the key information to inform our decisions.

Gives me excellent control of my PV system would certainly recommend

I don’t understand why this app is so lowly rated. I find it easy to use and it does everything I need it to do in controlling my inverter. Perhaps people like me who have used it successfully for a couple of years are just too lazy to do a review. I’ve repented! Hurrah for SOLIS!

App is out of action and keeps reporting too many attempts 3 in 1000 milliseconds. Tried reporting but unable to get anything other than Chinese support. Can we have : 1. Discharge from battery button with duration so we can quickly take part in Octopus Energy savings sessions without need to have to go and manually change charge/discharge times in inverter. 2. Charge to battery in a similar way as point 1. Either entering a duration or quantity for a quick top up. I don’t hold out much hope with Solis as they do their own thing. Not sure if they care about user experience Can you please fix issue with the option to switch off the inverter using this app. The option shows but disappears immediately. Also can we have the generation / yield etc back with the circles.
