Massively impressed with this cute and creative action RPG game, reminds me of a cross between Bastion and Zelda. I was hooked onto this game, it really does make you want to progress, to continuously craft and upgrade your gear in order to last longer for each run. The game has a creative mechanism for improving your character through patches, there are limited skill slots that cannot be changed for each run, hence resource management is required. There are dozens of hidden caves and areas to access, and many can only be done so when you’ve acquired certain gadgets as the game progresses. I like the idea of The Refuge which can be slowly upgraded, I only wished it was more customizable (like a lite version of Terraria or Minecraft). All in all, simple and superb, gameplay is pretty addictive, bosses are challenging, progress is rewarding, and the story…well, I never paid any attention to the story at all! But I’m pretty sure it’s great too!
