Thanks for providing such a great app it has helped me diagnose and test so many different situations and connections.

App is broken with recent releases.

Used this app for many years and has always proved to be reliable and realistic with the download speeds. Ads are on the app but for 99p you can remove them forever on all your devices with the account which may be worth it to some users that find adverts an issue. The app also offers the ability to test your broadband to see what level of streaming you can use. Been really helpful to check what the broadband can handle prior to getting 4K. No point having 4K if your broadband is too slow. Don’t forget to hold down on the Speedtest symbol for a hidden secret.

For me, it was freezing regularly when testing LTE / 5G, I went into the privacy settings, accepted all and rejected all as is my choice, it now works via LTE / 5G perfectly. UPDATE. 08/12/24 Still not working properly, every time the app is opened it freezes until you accept or reject the privacy stuff. Useless admin can’t be bothered to reply to complaints either. UPDATE. 11/12/24 App updated today in the IOS App Store, still freezing up, tests are either not loading or not completing. The privacy trick seems to get it working until you close the app. Still no response from app admin. Suddenly the go to app has become the one to avoid. UPDATE. 12/12/24 Another update today, seems we’re in with a chance that the 4G/5G fault has been cured, let’s see how it goes, hopefully things will get back to the usual level of excellence. UPDATE. 13/12/24 Another update today and they seem to have a firm grip on restoring the reliability when testing over 4G/5G we have come to expect from Ookla. Unfortunately the fix came too late for some who have decided to jump ship, I think they will be back soon.

Ever Since IOS 18 in September this app has been hit and miss mostly miss,I’ve just did todays update 11/12/24 and it’s no better it just keeps crashing,after years using ookla it’s now sadly time to find another speed test app,sorry after 3 months my patience have run out.

Always loved the Speedtest app, and now it’s got down detecter included in the app too it’s extra awesome, just tried to sign into a game on Xbox and it wasn’t loading due to server issues, I googled if the game was down and got redirected to the Speedtest app which I already had downloaded but didn’t know they’d added down detector, now I can see a whole list of things that are down including the game I’m trying to play along with other websites and services, great stuff

Easy to use and plenty of ther information to look at also gives detailed results after you have done the test which is good

This app is amazing! Here is a little secret for you Press and hold go, your iPhone will start to vibrate and intensify and you'll unlock something 😉 then go to settings where you'll unlock themes and app icons that you can change. You'll thank me later 😜
