Why even when I bought the paid version of the app I still get ads??
Here’s the list five minutes of my life: was excited to see Sporcle had an app, downloaded it, went to play a quiz, first question in the ads started hitting me. Like hitting me in a way where it interferes so much and it’s not enjoyable. Deleted straight away. Disappointed.
The sporcle website is great and the app does a decent job of making it accessible on the phone. However not all quizzes work well on mobile. The main thing I’ve noticed is that the interface for grid puzzles (e.g. crossword puzzles) will cut off clues after a certain length and there doesn’t seem to be a way to display the cutoff text
I obsessed with this app. I love to do quiz’s and puzzles, and I love to just play some music and play Taylor swift, geography, and Harry Potter quizs
I enjoy the quizzes but the ads are unbearable, you get one before every quiz you start and immediately after it’s over. Just play on safari, there won’t be ads on there.
Way too many “rate our app” prompts
The mobile app serves its job as a mobile app well, (even if the iPadOS version feels like a stretched out iPhone port,) but in terms of features compared to the website, there's a few features that are absent from this app. For example, the app doesn't have the map layout editor, nor can you use the search filters without entering a search term, which you can achieve in the website by searching for nothing. There's also weird quirks here and there, such as the picture box quizzes starting out very zoomed in, and grid quizzes using an odd custom keyboard instead of the ios keyboard, (which means you can't swipe down to use special characters on ipad.) On top of that, you can't move items in the quiz editor by dragging items, you must enter the number you want the item to move to. It's a bit difficult for me to determine if i should recommend this app or not, as the website also has quirks when used on a mobile device. I suppose it depends on what quirks you're willing to deal with. As for me, I might end up using the website instead.
Quizzes that require pictures are hard to see on mobile since you can’t scroll the picture to be up above the keyboard.
Sporcle is a super awesome quiz site with a great community who are passionate about making new quality quizzes every day! And Kyrgyzstan!!! :D
This is miles better than the original app. Great job!
