Hi guys, I’ve just started using the Imperial Assault companion app and it’s been absolutely fantastic. Unfortunately, at the end of the second tutorial mission (where you force open the blast door) the app crashes on the load screen and will not proceed upon re-opening. I’ve reset my game, gone through it again but the app crashes again in the same place. Any suggestions? Again, the app is awesome and brings a fully cool element to the game so am very happy :) Many thanks

Our group prefers co-op games but are big Star Wars fans. We’ve been waiting for this to be released for a while and it doesn’t disappoint! Fantastic experience playing through the first campaign, can’t wait to start the new one!

I purchased Imperial Assault last year and played its one vs one battles (skirmish) a lot but struggled to get into the campaign as for me it was all a bit too hard to keep track of missions, rewards XP...etc. Then I found out about this companion app, and I can’t express how much it has helped with organising and keeping track of my campaign! With an easy to follow tutorial and great story telling features it has made Imperial Assault campaigns immersive and generally way better! With a somewhat video game like menu and mission selection screen, this miniatures game has become so much easier to play! When you load up a mission it will tell the map to build and where certain tokens go and will tell lines of dialogue at the right time- as when you interact with something you tell the app and the next part of the story unfolds! You don’t necessarily play the game on your screen but instead it offers a kind of AI for the Imperial figures, with instructions like “move 3 to the nearest Rebel and perform an attack on it”. With this, it is more than capable of offering a great campaign experience even if your playing solo! So far though, I believe there is only the base game campaign yet, however it does incorporate miniatures from any expansion packs you have purchased; the game might randomise a hostile figure to appear on the map and it will do so by choosing a figure you have already told the app you have. That leads me into another point. The collection screen. The collection screen lets you input expansions you have purchased already, so the app knows not to place any figures or cards onto the map that you don’t own in real life. The sound effects for interacting with things and killing things are limited, however this doesn’t take away from the experience the app offers you! All in all, if you are looking to play an Imperial assault campaign and (like me) you find using pen and paper and score cards a bit too complex to keep track of the many point systems that happen in Imperial Assault then this is the app for you!

Why release an app that only allows you to get half way through the tutorial before freezing.

This app has made playing imperial assault so much fun. Allowing me and my friends to play together without an imperial player is great. Also it really increases the story telling RPG aspects of the game. Only issue right now is it basically just uses stuff from core game. So replay ability is an issue currently. Other than that great.

Simply superb app, allows me to play against the AI on the tabletop as practice. If you own IA then this is an absolute must. And for free, also.
