Thanks, Stave'n'Tabs, re my earlier enquiry, for confirming that modulation (i.e. change of key without an automatic change of key signature) is available via the score editing function (which does provide a change of key in the audio playback) and that transposition (i.e. change of key with an automatic change of key signature) is available via the instrument editing function (which doesn't provide a change of key in the audio playback).

So much for the price

Once you start working with it, even after paying for the basic in-app purchase, it feels like this could sell for more. There are so many features and a very clean presentation. Yes, once in a while it crashes, but overall it’s very solid. Its support for multiple instruments works well and it’s guitar and tablature features are very good. I highly recommend it.

Questions

Purchased this app. Currently writing a single stave of Piano. 1) In the Tutorial, ‘notes’ are called ‘chords.’ Incorrect. Notes are notes and chords are chords. Confusing and incorrect. Please correct this. 2) ‘Lyrics’ above the melody line ? No, that’s where chord names are placed. Or maybe the Tutorial is giving the name ‘chords’ to ‘lyrics’? Chord names are placed ABOVE the melody line, and Lyrics are placed UNDER the melody line. Please correct this. In the meantime guess I’ll have to do it by hand after I print. 3) ‘Ties’ and ‘slurs’ must be able to be placed above or below the notes. The program has a way to go yet.

Confusing

Very confusing. You can't put in quavers, you only have a limited set of instruments and it is very hard to navigate.

I thought this would be one of the annoying knock offs of the other notation apps. This is really good for a free app. Although there are a few features I would like (overplaying music to see if you notation matches it) but like I said it's pretty good for a free app. Nice Job. U deserve more credit.

Stave n' Tabs

Let me start off by saying that this app is pretty much exactly what i was looking for. I managed to have a go at Sibelius on the computer and really enjoyed myself and so i enquired about getting it myself, i was a bit let down when it turned out to be around $500. So then i tried to find other apps similar to get on my phone, i was willing to spend some money but not quite as much as most of the other apps are asking for. Then i ran in to this one, i checked all the features and the description and this was what i wanted and to add to the joy it was free! I was amazed at how unknown this was, this is a great app to create what you want, but to admit, a little confusing at the start but you get used to it. A feature i would recommend is in tab, the ability to add in harmonics (if it hasn't already, i still haven't found it) and to play higher notes on the guitar tab than only up to fret 9. But other than that, this app is amazing and again, I'm really surprised how this app isn't really popular. I commend the app creator on their amazing work. Thank you.
