Stitchly Reviews

A+ app

I love making patterns on this app! I spent about 40 hours on the free version and even more now that I bought the full version. Definitely saving money on patterns overall too!

I love this App!

jimzpest on

United States

I use this app nearly everyday planning projects that combine companion pattern pieces and make one sampler out of 2 or more items. I also plot out my purchased sampler patterns and work from the ipad app to stitch them. I only have one thing missing that I would like to see a change to. I do a LOT of purchased Blackbird Designs samplers. The symbols you provide to code them do not have the letter X or x, backslash /, foreslash \, a dot . like a period, or a ^, or = an equal sign. These are constantly used by this prolific design company. There are others I cannot think of just this second… Many symbols available on a keyboard are used by pattern makers but are not available on your current symbols list. I’d love to these added!

Versatile and fun!

This is a brilliant app! I was hesitant about buying because I wasn't sure how much of an upgrade it would be, but it was so worth it. I admit, I use this for patterning for crochet instead of cross stitch, but it's perfect! You choose your stitches, you can use the paintbrush and the fill tool- I'm sure you could even prototype pixel art in this! It's so versatile and fun to use, I highly recommend it.

Waste of Money - Can’t use across devices

Bubbly10 on

Tried out the trial. Seemed good, decided to go ahead and pay the $30 but I made the purchase on my phone. When I wanted to download and “sign in” on my iPad, like you usually do for other apps…it turns out there is no “signing in”. You have to “restore” the app by having your devices signed in using the same Apple ID you used for the original purchase. Mind you the iPad I use uses a different Apple ID. Okay, so I sign out and sign back in with my Apple ID (already inconvenient for me since it’s a shared family iPad) but it still doesn’t restore. It gives me instructions, which I have already followed but the restore is unsuccessful. Honestly a waste of money. Pretty sure there are better apps out there that allow you to SIGN IN into your account and not make it difficult to use the app. Skip this app. Not worth it. Waste of Money.

Use My Row Counter instead

You can do pretty much all the same stuff with My Row Counter for free. Don’t pay the outrageous price

Not free

KP scout on

It makes it seem like this app is free but it is not.

18 mesh limits

MamaBearCEJ on

United States

This only goes up to 300 x 300 stitches making it impossible to make 18 mesh stockings without making two connecting patterns

Could be better

savannah_gw on

This app is great and possibly the best one out there for the iPad, but I really wish there were layers, similar to Procreate or Photoshop. Having layers would make it really easy to add/adjust elements such as lettering without messing up the rest of your design.

Never leave reviews but I had to do it

Foreverontheroad on

I’ve been so beyond impressed with this app since stumbling upon it. The pattern I created was absolutely perfect, the PDF you can print makes it so easy to make whatever custom embroidery pieces you want. One thing I wish we could do from the app is have the ability to mark the stitches we’ve done as completed, so it would eliminate the need to print out the PDF pattern. Also when zooming into the pattern, I wish the numbers grid was visible so you don’t have to zoom in and around the page to find what section you’re on

Can’t do much

Gibbles541 on

United States

This app would be amazing if more tools were included in the free version. It takes me so long to make a pattern because I can’t spend 40$ dollars to get the premium version which is what has any of the better features.
