It's a tool to extend your knowledge, and it doesn't matter what you want to learn — a new language, medicine, law, history, driving, fine art, music — from simple day-to-day tidbits, to knowledge of life changing importance. Studies is an app to help you achieve your learning goals.

There are Studies apps for iPhone, iPad, and Mac (separate purchase), and they sync up beautifully via iCloud. Start studying in class with Studies for Mac, continue on the bus ride home with Studies for iPhone, and finish off on the sofa with Studies for iPad.

Sync does not work

The newly added Flashcards on iPhone are not added to the library on iPad, although iCloud Sync is on

Best cards app ever

I have been using it since it was Mental Case. For language learning, it is the best app for making memory cards. Multifacet feature is awesome!!!

Naja

Ganz gut aber es gibt nur ICloud Sync. Der Sync funktioniert NICHT zwischen Mac und IOs! Leider schwach und nicht vertrauenserweckend. Ich wünsche mir Sync über Dropbox oder WebDav. Mehr gibt es nicht zu sagen. Der Support hat mir auch nicht weiter geholfen. Wenn man nur auf einem Gerät arbeitet ist alles gut aber sobald man synchronisieren will fängt die Sch... an.

Super zum Lernen, aber...

Knackpunkt im Moment mit der iOS-Version: ab und zu wechselt die Ansicht zur ersten „Facette“ zurück, ohne Eingabeaufforderung meinerseits. Die Mac-Version reagiert öfters etwas sehr träge (zumindest auf meinem MacBook Air). Ansonsten würde ich mir wünschen, dass man die Zeileneinrückung der in den „Facetten“ erstellbaren Listen bearbeiten könnte. Alt+Tab bringt leider nur ein „normales“ Tabulatorzeichen, aber rückt nicht die Listenebene ein.

Best one out there - with room for improvement

I really like this app! I have tested a great number of SRL apps and this one is the best yet. Pros: + lots of different options for learning, from cramming to deadline to long-term learning + Easy and pretty card creation - definitely better than in Anki + good spaced repetition learning algorithm - can handle large amounts of input every single day, without completely overwhelming you (I‘m currently studying for a deadline with over 1000 cards, usually get about 200 cards to repeat every day) + the stacks are handy for organisation + free on iOS (amazing, thank you!!) + possibility for multiple choice quizzes + synch with iCloud Things to improve + answers cannot be typed - this is a shame and the biggest hiccup so far, especially for vocabulary learning, where you might get false ideas of mastery if you know what a word sounds like but not how to spell it + sometimes the algorithm seems ‚off‘. For example, I have already been shown a card I got right 95% of the time 9 times in the past 14 days, but one I got right only 75% of the time 4 times. Not a huge issue, but I do feel like it unnecessarily increases my workload + would be nice to be able to format text (bold, italic, underlined) + the sync is sometimes sketchy/slow but this might be an iCloud issue

Excellent study tool

Everything I need for studying various subjects. Good Mac and IOS support and reliable syncing. Different repetition memory algorithms for e.g. short term (e.g. exams) vs long term goals. Audio, pictures, multiple faces per card. Excellent.

Fotos nehmen unverhältnismäßig viel Platz weg

Die App macht was sie soll und das gut. Allerdings nehmen Bildaufnahmen aus unerklärlichen Gründen viel Speicherplatz weg (60+ MB pro Bild). So ist das auf kleineren iPads kaum zu gebrauchen.
