Sync Folders

This adds files and updates files, but does not delete files. This means that if your files change name, you will end up with both the old and the new version of the file. And if you delete a file at one end, it will be restored back from the other end and you will never be able to get rid of it. In other words, this app doesn’t properly sync folders.

I have much music files which I like to store on a NAS at home and at the office. I used to have to take ages to delete folder and copy the new one in entirety to avoid missing new music files. Now with Sync Folders pro, I can just let the software copy only those new files. Thanks for that. I highly recommend this software.

During sync-backup to an external USB harddrive, the app froze, showing freak-disks in the task window (MacBook Pro HD, which I do not own, as source and destination) and as final result the USB harddrive is ruined, not even bootable anymore. The Finder window or Diskutilities won’t even show it… Take good care with this app, is my advice! Not suitable for backups or rescue things… *** In response to developer: Well it did show ‘freak-disks’ in the main window, just moments before the crash. If the sandboxing doesn’t affect the system, where did these ‘freak-disks' come from, is my concern towards you. For me all is solved, I did not lose anything due to several different backups ;-) but maybe this is something to look in to for you. It really showed ‘MacBookPro HD’ as source AND destination in the window (I never owned a MacBook Pro, so it can not come from my network or system), for a few seconds only, but still. And then it crashed….the disk with it…FYI, no hard feelings :-)

I use this handy program to copy the backup files of our FileMaker server to our network NAS. It is super save and fast. Coming from a Windows environment I spend time looking for a reliable and easy to use macOS application. Sync Folders Pro does the job!

With the purchase of an iPhone 15 Pro we now have the ability to easily connect and quickly transfer files from any number of digital storage devices. I can now backup digital photos from my camera’s memory card to an external SSD, all with my phone. When moving this much data, I only want to transfer the new photos off the card and onto the drive. This app does this very well and gives me a log of its success or failures (not that I have had any yet). The app certainly isn’t perfect and could use some usability updates and GUI improvements, but it does get the job done. And I can’t find any other iPhone app that can do so. Developers, please keep the updates coming! Thanks!!

I could not connect to HTTPS or FTP cannot see the option to do this. Maybe it’s for the pro version
