Drains battery on iPad through unauthorised background activity

olderVIP on

Australia

This app is terrible as turning off all background activity does not work It still allows audio background activity to function which over night can consume 30% of a fully charged battery

Crossword formatting

Thewal54 on

Australia

Since most recent Apple update for my iPad the crossword clues are sitting over the puzzle so it can’t be completed. I couldn’t find anywhere else to provide this feedback- app support is only very basic information that doesn’t allow for customer support.

Save your money

Liz471 on

Australia

This is what you get when you combine an unstable app with a terrible interface, and then add biased gutter journalism. Seriously, don’t bother. Addendum: Please stop showing previews of disturbing videos as I scroll through the article list. There are certain videos that are distressing to watch. Let me make the choice about whether or not I want to view them, don't shove them in my face.

Needs Dark Mode option

HonestReview92 on

Australia

Works ok for my needs but as a constant migraine suffer, having a dark mode option would be most helpful. I also love doing the two speed crossword but not available in the app. Be great if you could expand the app puzzles to have same range as the paper version.

How many times?

Maircott on

Australia

2024 Nov. This is an addition to my previous review. It’s no better, but News Corp is happy to bill me each month, but every week or two I am told I’m not a member. Trying to log in again doesn’t get any results. I have to cancel the app and start over every time. Be a miracle if anyone took any notice of all the complaints that appear about this site. It’s just not good enough. How many times do I have to verify my membership and regular payments to prove I am a subscriber to this publication? About to read a story and suddenly come to a dead end and even then filling in the info is rarely accepted that I am a member. Twists and turns eventually let me continue, This is frustrating and just plain hopeless as it occurs at least every week. So annoying when the cost is regularly debited to my account, without fail. Not good enough. Yet again I am instructed to sign in to the site. Too bad that I am charged every month to read numerous articles of poorly written stories, and in the Top Stories not enough to make it a South Australian publication. Why do I bother? Only because there isn’t a Home Delivery service in my town.

I cannot read the detailed article text, and it is incredibly not expandable like every other publication

Monitored? I don’t think so.

keighley74 on

Australia

Does anyone even look at these reviews? I’m in full agreement with the many comments about the crossword section. Some days they download, and some days, like yesterday, they just don’t. It’s really frustrating. I used to blame my printer, then I realised it’s not. Why bother with reviews if nothing changes. Really should do better, it can’t be that hard!!

Please fix app

Work commute on

Australia

I used to be able to listen to I Heart Radio and read The Advertiser now when I go to The Advertiser app it stops the radio. Would be appreciated if this could be fixed asap. Thanks

Terrible functionality

Stevenplfjeb on

Australia

Have my notifications set to BREAKING NEWS ONLY, and yet I get notifications telling me to take the shark quiz. Thats just one of so many things wrong with the functionality of this app which also includes having to manually scroll back to top of the home screen. No option to turn off autoplay of preview videos in the app which then turns off any sound you are listening to. Terrible.

App crashing

Mat8e on

Australia

The app keeps crashing and end up having to buy a physical version
