The Breakaway provides cyclists with the data, guidance, and motivation needed to improve on the bike.

How do we do this?

STEP ONE: YOU GOTTA KNOW WHERE YOU’RE STARTING FROM, TO GET WHERE YOU WANT TO GO.

When you sign up, we pull up to a year of your past training to analyze your strengths and weaknesses. We sync with Strava, Garmin, Wahoo, Hammerhead, Zwift, Peloton, Oura and more to come. We are the single source of your performance data so you can spend less time analyzing, more time riding.

STEP TWO: WHAT GETS MEASURED GETS IMPROVED.

Set your high-level goals and availability to train and we’ll show you how to spend your time to hit your objectives.

STEP THREE: YOU STILL HAVE TO DO THE WORK. NOW GO RIDE, AND WE’LL DO THE REST. YOU GOT THIS.

We’ll analyze every one of your rides and use that data to help you know what you need to do to see improvement.

STEP FOUR: TEAMWORK MAKES THE DREAMWORK.

If you’ve ever ridden in a group, you know how important your friends are to helping you reach your goals. Invite your friends to train and celebrate each others progress!

We'll show you that improvement is simple...but not always easy.

Doesn’t work

Alex_W2016 on

The app stick processing my data. Uninstalled and unsubscribed

Fantastic and user friendly

Manxed on

This app takes your data and makes it easy to see where your strengths and weaknesses are. The usefulness is in how they present the data and then set levels for you to build and progress. The app then adds training sessions which pull through from other apps like Zwift. There’s also great training support in regular emails which pad out the data on the app. Only a few months in but so far so good.

Pretty good

Reggiem9 on

Good all round app but it would be nice if it could track your strava data when you first start the app so you can get good recommendations quickly

My new favourite training app

Darkmark07 on

Simple to use and understand yet nuanced enough to give you plenty of targets to aim for. Have honestly made more progress in the 4 weeks since starting my subscription than in the previous 4 months. Highly recommended 👍

Data is nonsense. Feedback features don’t work.

Trawson on

Second time I’ve tried to use this app. It connects to my Wahoo account then presents a totally nonsense power profile which bears no resemblance to me. Tried to feedback via the app but the feature is broken so you can’t send it, and crashes if you try to attach a screenshot. I wouldn’t normally give a bad review without giving feedback but seeing as it won’t allow me to, I guess that’s that.

Simple and effective.

A great way to measure your progress. Not as complete a set of workout options as other platforms. Bit harsh on the performance scale - I’m beginner on some of the metrics!

Still assessing

I have struggled to find a training system that suits me, TrainerRoad is excellent but is expensive and means I have to have a second subscription on top of Zwift. I did get rid of Zwift but missed the interaction. This seemed perfect as it was relatively inexpensive and utilised Zwift functionality. Overall I remain unconvinced but will give it longer, there is some excellent content but it doesn’t seem to mesh well with the app although the app meshes really well with my Garmin and zwift. I don’t have a power meter on my winter training bike so it was a bit disappointing that long hilly routes were ignored for lack of power. The app it self is very good but doesn’t have the flexibility and planning facility of something like TR. I will however persist and for the princely sum of £3.49 it is worth a punt.

great app. Just get it.

I’ve been using this app for months now, even through a small 6 month break 😆 It syncs EVERY time via God knows what, Wahoo Element, or Strava, who even knows, but after getting back on it’s been Brilliant. Full stop. It’s Motivating and sets targets giving immediate feedback. A short one month winter training plan has meant I’ve just done my first EVER intervals this week WELL into middle age (and after a Cent Cols Challenge last year). I was nearly sick, thanks Christian. The graphics are almost all easily intelligible, except one, but that’s probably more about me. You can see where you are now Vs who you are (plagiarising their words), and I’m going to enter another stupid event using it. The part where you can compare yourself to others from the 70s - sorry others in your age range - is good, but put some friends on as well as the Pros, they’re too hard.

So far very good but needs a few changes to keep up to date with E-sports

Steevviieee on

So far very good however rides under 20 minutes are considered unclassified and described as not long enough to stimulate any gains. However with modern e-sports it’s very common to do races sub 20 mins, and a lot of the time we do multiple races in the same session but they are saved as separate activities. However as they are under 20 mins they are considered unproductive despite being some of the most intense workouts I do in a week. This causes the weekly planner to be off and showed my warmup, 2 races majorly above threshold and cool down to be an endurance day.
