Do you have an old iPhone lying around that’s too old to sell but still works? How about making it a clock? I'm using The Clocks every day on my, get this, iPhone 4. After sleeping most of a decade in the junk drawer, it’s now plugged in and propped up on my desk as a dedicated clock. As a shiny black digital clock it looks really sharp (the iPhone 4 is a nice design and size for a clock, if tiny for a phone), and it’s somehow deeply satisfying to see this venerable piece of technology being actively useful after hibernating for so long. So, credit to the developers for making it compatible all the way back to iOS 7! As to the app itself, I keep it on the digital-clock mode, picking a new color from time to time. The triple-tap lock ensures that accidental taps (as I knock it around while studying) have no effect but I can easily change things up when I want to. But really… iPhone 4, man! Works perfectly.
